So what did the guy actually say? or do? All google just shows me are links to a bunch of whiners' opinions of the incident.

as far as I understand it :

him being a second gen American Korean was a big factor when he referred to his hardship in Korea as being "gay" but not meant to be taken literally, which native Koreans did. He posted that "gay" comment on myspace which was taken out on context, thus labelling himself a traitor to his own kind. This comment was made years ago, when he was still essentially a young American in culture but Korean by birth, trying to find his roots again at his forefathers' motherland.

He apologized but damage was irrepairable.

^ only because of the insanely xenophobic and hyper-sensitive east asian cultures would something like thato ruin a celebrity. Compared to the offenses of Tiger Woods and Michael Jackson, he did jack shit, yet his career is fucked? Isn't that a little too harsh, lol

Gay comments, the "fails" I received; theres general ignorance in most of you. If you guys bothered to even read it, you would see what I mean.

Revscene users use to be a close knit group of people who loved cars and actually made some useful posts. The last I saw that was 2 years ago when Dagonay and hypa were still active, and SG wasn't the only known Admin. So Revscene: Stop using the fail button, and post useful comments. This is not your local 4chan.
VLS Still has useful people who post normal comments.
VOT has turned into what use to be FC. We had a FC to keep the shit threads in there for a reason.
You just noticed this? I don't even log in anymore (except to occasionally use the buy/sell) and mostly view as guest.

Some of the mods, the members, and the quality of posts just aren't worth the trouble.

I mean, you've got people with simple requests like addressing NSFW avatars and they just get insulted by members and even mods.

holy cow... op has a massive crush for that jay park guy...

i came in here when i read "Kim Yuna" and i was slapped with a bunch of pictures of a guy thats not named "Kim Yuna"...

also, relating to the issue, "i hate koreans" and "koreans are gay" are comments that a person trying to get into the local pop scene should NOT say. i dont know what kind of context those comments can be taken as ok, since anyone with basic reading comprehension can see it's a direct knock at korea.

any korean that thinks it's ok to let him go on after comments like those are shallow as fuck and have no pride in their country, which is a far cry from the koreans i know who hated having been DQ'd in speed skating and were proud as fuck for winning gold with Kim Yuna. some koreans, and some people, just have their priorities wrong and celebrate the wrong things.

Now THAT'S fostering AWESOME international relations between the two countries, ain't it? I wonder how they feel about the 100,000 Koreans that are in Australia right now. Maybe they're going to be labeled as traitors for immigrating there?

I'm sure he'll find other ways to get popular in America since he is quite talented with R&B and Hip Hop.
