They are leaving T-80s behind? I guess the older T-80As or something.

Yes, T-72s are too old, just leave them there.

In the hatch, probably... Or just put it in a tubed mustang..

Tegra_Devil 03-01-2010 04:41 PM

t-80 is powered by the 1,000-hp 6TD-1 6-cylinder multi-fuel two-stroke turbo-piston diesel engine, ensuring high fuel efficiency and a long cruising range.

t-80ud had a 1,200hp engine

Greenstoner 03-01-2010 05:16 PM

noob question, but does it have turbo ??

saying "does it have turbo" in 90% of threads regarding anything with wheels is starting to get old

tool001 03-01-2010 07:57 PM

those are quite old. i think they are up2 t-90 now.
t-80 series dont have no night vision equip.

that said, thats how militaries work. make old equipment disappear so u can make room for new...

twitchyzero 03-01-2010 08:03 PM

wasn't stalin the one that had like 500 tanks lined up for his parade but had no engines in them? (just to show-off and flex the red army's muscles?)

SMDBICH 03-01-2010 08:31 PM

imagine sum1 going rambo with one of those things in van

Correction: T80-UD was the diesel variant.

anything T80 that wasnt UD (or sub variants of UD) were gasoline motors. the gas versions were known to have poor fuel economy... so they always carried auxilary tanks on the back.

it looks like a T80BV (basic + reactive armor model) in that pic on the thread...

they shoulda at least scrap the tanks and used the raw materials for something....

then again, if theyre giving them away i'd be signing up for one!

tool001// T80 design isnt as new as the T90 design, but the russians are still using them! they have more T80U's + T80U variants than T90's. T90 is basically a modernized / updated T72. T80's and T90's are built/ designed from different tank factories.

orange7 03-01-2010 10:06 PM

rs group buy and the swap the engine with a k20A
