Matte color car w/ CF hood??

I haven't seen any Matte color car with a CF hood yet, especially one that is clear coated. I have seen car with matte black hoods, roof, and trunk. But what about the other way around? Matte car with a shiny CF hood? Anyone have pictures??

yeah, you're right. What have they come up with as strong and light as CF for weight reduction again?

the majority of "carbon fiber" hoods for sale out there are not pure carbon fiber, and they are not that strong at all.

they are not entirely made of carbon fiber, just an overlay on top of fiberglass as mentioned by poster above

I always thought matte black was overdone but not that bad on exotics, until yesterday when I saw a flat black passat

How many people on RS really buy a CF hood for their strength and weight reduction, again? Idiot.

No, matte VINYL is played out, real painted matte cars, not. Most, if not all of the matte colored cars locally are matte vinyl. And I am not going for matte black.

Maybe you should tell all the other companies to stop making CF hoods... lots of shits are played out, oh well...

Remember there was a thread that allowed us to change to somewhat NWS avatar? Well, apparently mine was too NWS (the under boob dancing asian) and they never changed it. I asked the mods after to change it too, but oh well. Might as well keep it since it's bigger and easier to spot than those small tiny ones

Its because european cars are the ones that are the one to matte wrap and the carbon hood are for ricers...

Oh my god this thread hurts my brain.

He's not asking whether it'll be 'rice', if it's 'played out', or even wondering about weight reduction. The guy is just curious about whether a clear coated CF hood looks good on a matte car.

After doing a quick search, I couldn't find any pics worth posting. Personally, I don't think it would look all that great. What colour would the car be??

after thinking about it for a minute, I think a matte coloured vehicle with shiny cf hood/trunk is crazy enough to work! post pics when you got the combo going.

But I am talking about shiny CF hood, like with clear coat. I don't really want to matte clear a CF hood, although it looks very cool.

Wow, thanks alot!! I think you are the first to understand my question. I haven't seen it done, so I was wondering if it will look good. I really don't care if my car is rice or played out...honestly, I think my car is rice and played out, but I like it..

I am thinking of a matte grey... matte black and white has been done, same as red and blue, so I just want something nice but not too crazy.

No money, hahaha. Just a thought to see in my future plan... another reason is I don't have to wax/polish/clay bar the car anymore!! hahahaha

Really You think so?? I am still debating, I don't want to end up regreting and have to matte clear my CF hood or sell it. I don't care if CF hood is "rice", I always wanted one and I can finally afford one... so I am happy.

99% of the CF crap you see on cars are wet carbon. Cheap one made of fiberglass with just some CF overlay. Dry carbon ones will cost you an arm and a leg.
