is it to use their facilities like the fitness centre etc?

Benz_05TSX 03-03-2010 02:08 AM

I think they advertised it @ the O zone... if you sign up for their draw and you got a card, you can go online and get a free pass..

Domani 03-03-2010 07:09 AM

i m assuming they are taking down all flags of nations as well as the blue/green wallpapers after the games? it would be nice to keep some of it...

Anybody been there and thinks it'd be worth $58/month? It's cheaper than Steve Nash and I'd get usage out of the indoor paddling centre and maybe yoga

^ The weightroom isnt that great at oval IMO, but this was last year.

Its got advanced machines and fairly new dumbells (of course :P), but only a few benches and weird mirrors =\. Feels kinda weird to work out at oval

Doubt it changed tho

Ugh, maybe I should stay with Sportscentral. We'll see when it reopens

MaximalLazy 03-03-2010 09:59 AM

Unless of course you play any of volleyball/basketball/badminton/table tennis/ice skate.

I play most of the sports listed, therefore I think it's pretty worth it :)

Not to mention all the people who are going to start going there just because it was the Olympic venue.

MaximalLazy 03-03-2010 10:15 AM

^ and the occasional hot chicks who skate around :)

AutozamAZ-3 03-03-2010 01:30 PM

indoor soccer field...niceeee

xtacy777 03-03-2010 06:29 PM

been a member there since it started and i regularly use the gym.

word of advice, if you are going to go there just for the gym equipments then you will be pretty upset.

I'll list some things out off the top of my head that i do not like about the weightroom.

-Dumbbells can be easily maxed
-Only one set of dumbbells
-No Pec Dec
-Incline bench press seat sucks, made for people with short legs or something
-Kids constantly take up the benches (4 of them in total only)
-A lot of teens there who talk a lot and have horrible techniques (i know this drives some people nuts)
-No Decline benchpress unless you love the smith machine
-Lack of mirrors

illicitstylz 03-03-2010 08:06 PM

^ That is pretty lacking, only 4 benches for freeweighted dumbells. And i'm assuming you'd need to take one of those benches to use for the smith machine?

If that's the case, will probably recoonsider another fitness centre.

Thanks for the insight xtacy

JSALES 03-03-2010 08:36 PM

awesome but hearing about the gym equipment doesn't sound too pleasing

MWR34 03-03-2010 11:01 PM

I dont get the international and national sized ice rinks.. is it for skating or hockey? also is both under that roof?

Harvey Specter 03-03-2010 11:04 PM

^

exactly what i thought when i did their 3 month trial. at that time, there were no mirrors either which was a big thing that made me dislike their gym. that and there was only like one squat rack :(

StealthFighter 03-04-2010 01:46 AM

lol, i was gonna ask about the squat rack.

squat rack, free weights and a dip/pullup station are all i need.

Gh0stRider 03-04-2010 08:01 PM

i keep signing up for the day pass. Use different emails and phone numbers.
