damn thats a big man. China's come a long way in terms of car designs, it's somewhat less ugly. They're next step is to get down the safety and reliability, then off to power and performance development.

I think the whole point of this post is this picture
At first I was like

I think the point was to show how far China has come. Just imagine where their cars will be in 5-10 years time.

ilvtofu 03-04-2010 08:33 PM

lol at the fat guy

?NR 03-04-2010 10:45 PM

not too shabby compared to their past products.

outer panels seem like they fit pretty well together and gaps are consistent.

Be interesting in a few year.

toyota86 03-05-2010 12:12 AM

Do not want.
I looks like they face lifted something they started copying since the early 90's.

smk 03-05-2010 12:14 AM

He looks alot like jeffield, srsly.
But wow the interior is exactly like the xb, and the exterior is kind of similar to the xB mashed with some chevy car.... Quality looks decent though.

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-05-2010 07:34 AM

looks like a completely fail

wait, is that jeffield's relative from oversea?

TRD Rs200 03-05-2010 07:49 AM

GWM Peri ad looked quite awesome.

ivanz 03-05-2010 02:18 PM

Nice...its Chinese Eddie Murphy from The Nutty Professor, haha

RollingStone 03-05-2010 05:29 PM

Wow that looks pretty acceptable! Nicer than GM's junk LOL.

Probably where Hyundai was 10 years ago.

some say, he poses for car magazines in china, and the editorial makes fun of it.
some say, he can't get out of the car above without the jaws of life because he's got fatter eating KFC in the backseat.

he's NOT jeffield, but he's jeffield's failed-at-immigration Northern Chinese cousin!

slammer111 03-06-2010 12:53 AM

Grille logo looks like Chrysler.
Body looks like a cross between a Chevy Tracker and Nissan Cube.
Front View looks like a Nissan mixed with a Honda Element.
Tail lights looks like Dodge Durango.

A for effort, but they still have a long way to go.

Also we know nothing about the performance and reliability, and the Chinese aren't known for either at this point.

hotong 03-06-2010 10:51 AM

reminds me of the scion

hk20000 03-06-2010 07:34 PM

the surprise point of this car is that the engine is known to have no connection whatsoever to foreign engine suppliers.

so they are now designing and building their own engines in house, which is what makes GWM competitive against other foreign technology dependent small car firms....

and to make a 1.5L engine with VVT and 105HP is actually world class engineering, if you think about it.

asian_XL 03-07-2010 01:26 AM

^ how difficult is it to replicate all the parts under a Toyota Yaris hood, and claim they design their own shit?

Honda spent 10 years developing Vtec, there's no way GWM have the skill without copying this and that.

46_valentinor 03-07-2010 08:09 AM

looks like a smart car and a G-class had a baby
