ICBC coverage?

Will ICBC cover aftermarket stuff? (do i need extra insurance with more yearly premium)
For example, if I have an aftermarket exhaust and a bodykit, and some toyota hit me cuz they dont know how to stop. Will ICBC cover my bent out of shape bumper (cost me $1400 to paint and fit) and dented to hell mufflers that cost me $1200 when bought new.

If not, is there a loophole or some "special " body shop that has connections to get my aftermarket parts back to new form?

ICBC has a standard to return your car to "pre-accident condition" Any shop that's accredited by ICBC and has some kind of reputation should be able to satisfy you as a customer as well as meet the ICBC guidelines for the claim.

If you have any questions regarding this, email me at jeff@bavara.ca or check out some of our repairs at www.flickr.com/bavara

Thanks

But i am afraid the ICBC adjusters don't realize the value of the damage parts. They could easily just quoted me a price for stock OEM muffler for 500$..... Can the bodyshop help?

hey shatz/jeff, i saw the pics of the repairs you guys did. non of it are modified.

the op stated that what if the car had a body kit and exhaust before the accident, will icbc cover for repair and fix of the same parts? lets just say it was a veilside body kit and a greddy exhaust. will they use veilside body kit and greddy exhaust to bring the car back in the original condition or will they slap in an oem replacement and disregard the aftermarket stuff?

It only gets anal when ur shit gets stolen, or when u are at fault.

When u are the victim, usually it goes back the same way it once was.

When you insure aftermarket equipment, you'll be asked to specify exactly what the parts are, including serial numbers (if available), and have to provide original sales receipts as well. Thus they'll know exactly what parts you have and what they're worth.
