Why Today's Youth Is Garbage

Quote:
When I was just a boy many, many moons ago, boys were taught to be tough. Real toughness, not that garbage type of toughness you think you get by driving an SUV on rough terrain.

No. When I use the word "tough," I mean tough enough to get the crap kicked out of you and still be able to go to work the next day. Tough enough to go without food for three days and still be able to wrestle a freaking alligator if you had to. Tough enough to walk 10 miles in the freezing Illinois outback to bury a guy with your bare hands.

Now? Now young people think being tough is going a couple of hours without cable.

So what went wrong?

More here: http://ca.askmen.com/money/mafioso_100/102_mafia.html
LOL, some of the stuff makes sense, I found the solutions the best

3- Smack them around once in a while. I never forgot a good smacking. You don't need a belt, but a good slap across the face once in a while lets them know who's boss.

It's funny coz.....youth will always be garbage. Doesn't matter if it's 10 years ago or 10 years later.

Did yesterday's kids need to fight to get into university even if they have the money? Did yesterday's kids have to worry about not finding a job with a degree? Or even a masters? Did yesterday's kids have to worry about studying for things that will be out of date when they get out of school?

Old people will always complain about the young and vice versa. It's a vicious cycle.

Someone sounds really cheesed off for having a crappy childhood. You know what's tough? Not venting about it on the internet.

One of the worst articles I've read. Unless this is some kind of joke? Incredibly biased, no sources. I've seen the retards here on RS write better stuff. The first picture with the fat chicks told me right away how stupid it was gonna be. This man clearly is a victim of the media and the society created on TV.

Face it, technology makes the youth weaker physically, yet capable of doing so much more.

I bet the barbarians complained about the next generation having rifles. What happen to good old sword fighting that actually took physical strength and toughness?

This is what happens when you try to apply an entire generation to another generation and expect them to be exactly the same.

Nowadays kids don't get punished by being spanked/beat up/slapped. They just get grounded from using the computer and that already makes them whine and cry

I don't blame some of the methods though, like taking the kid through a bad part of town can be helpful, lol

this phenomenon is also common in modern China and they call these kids the "80後" means the bunch of people born after 1980 who are not very strong and they don't grown up through hardships.

But then if everyone's a wimp then there won't be no macho world wars and we can all live a peaceful life....well in a sense.

I guess I fall into your gen. I just turned 19 and playing outside was probably my best memories as a child. It is just so much more limitless than being stuck inside on a computer/tv playing games or surfing RS all day. I think what it is, is that the group of people from our gen who had older siblings tended to get out more because that's what your older brother/sister/cousin did. However, each generation in the family got less and less of it until it is at the point it's at now.
