It's pretty easy once you know where to shoot. Most hats you can shoot the brim on either side. Some hats if they are tall enough you can shoot the very top of it.
I think...it is Walton's gang that has thise black top hats. I suggest finding those guys and shooting the tops of the hat. I did it with the carano(sp?) rifle during a gang hideout. Another place I would suggest is in Armadillo(sp?), if you head into the bar building, sometime there will be two of those guys sitting at a table. And I find its easier without deadeye. unless you are good at aiming with the xbox/ps3 controllers.

If you find this challenge hard, wait till you get to the next one. Shoot hat off then disarm them in 3 seconds.

Hopefully this will somewhat help you.

hunting bears is great
they are so sneaky..they come at you when you're skinning his friends

dueling + hunting + horsebreaking is what sets this game apart from GTA and brings sandbox games to the next level.

Twin Rocks + Bolt Action + Casual Aim + Repeat

or

Twin Rocks + Bolt Action + Good dead eye + Repeat

I can't dead eye for the life of me so yeah.

But the lvling thing has bored me, playing the multiplayer matches more now.

Well if you try casual aim, it should be alot easier

Ch28 06-06-2010 05:07 AM

Easiest way of farming XP is doing an online private match and grinding Pike's Basin. It's the area right beside the farm and you have to blow up the 3 crates. You get around 2000 xp everytime you solo it. Spend a few hours doing it and you'll level up in no time.

twitchyzero 06-06-2010 09:59 AM

i solo'd solloman's folly and get around 1200xp every 4 minutes....i only at 25th rank

do you get less xp per hideout match if you're playing with friends?

6insomnia9 06-06-2010 10:06 AM

Depends on how many people you've killed will relfect your xp at the end of the match

maybe it's because im still low levels and dont have access to more powerful guns, cause it's taking me a long time to kill an enemy even with casual on, and i get killed once or twice if im not fast enough, oh and i can never get the "clean house" bonus for some reason doing the twin rocks.

twitchyzero 06-06-2010 10:50 AM

aim up a bit when it's locked on...increases your chances of headshots by quite a bit

Get the bolt action rifle from tumbleweed hideout.

Clean house is just how fast u kill those guys before the second reinforcements come.

It does give a lot of hp, but the time it takes to finish it doesn't compare to twin rocks, potentially u can get 1000 xp per minute on twin rocks.

Gt-R R34 06-06-2010 11:10 PM

damn and here i am slowly grinding awya... haha

SkinnyPupp 06-07-2010 02:29 AM

Was up until 5am finishing all the challenges. Almost done now, just have to finish the hunter ones. I have to say, disarming 6 people without reloading was pretty fun :D

Vansterdam 06-09-2010 06:06 PM

whats the difference in casual normal and expert aiming on multiplayer?

do you get to keep the weapons you find in mutilplayer free roam?

also how do u save in free roam

twitchyzero 06-10-2010 12:38 AM

it's the same in multiplayer...casual is basically like aimbot..normal is wall hacks...expert is no assist

i dont think you can keep weapons...as you rank up and unlock challenges thats when you get more/better weapons.

i'm going to try and platinum this game..72% trophies so far..88% in SP...rank 26 in MP.

the ringer horeshoe one is sucha PIA

TOPEC 06-10-2010 12:40 AM

the weapons u pick up during ur free roam session disappears once u log off, UNLESS u have reached a certain level where the weapon gets unlocked, then u can keep the weapons permanently.

twitchyzero 06-10-2010 12:51 AM

do you get more XP playing hardcore matches?

Vansterdam 06-10-2010 06:11 AM

anyone know what level you get to keep ur bolt action? man that thing is pimp!
