Where to buy Lego locally?

I am looking for a set (cheap set, $4.99 if order from Lego.ca) of lego but the only place I know who sells is Toy'r'us but thet dont carry it, if order from lego.ca the shipping is gonna cost at least $3 which didnt make sense to order from them, is there any store that carry more lego?

Gumby 03-18-2010 09:54 AM

What set is it?

Unfortunately, ToysRUs has the largest selection of LEGO. Other stores may sell LEGO, such as Sears, Zellers, Walmart, or independent toy stores such as Splash Toys, The Toy Box, etc, but their selections are really limited.

not really local but if you plan on making a trip down to seattle they have a dedicated lego store there

Ive spent lots on lego and damn do i regret this $2000+.. Anyways the only stores I knew of were the larger big store and the only small shop I went to was.
The granville island toy company near main and 16th. Either than that you are SOL. Check legos website and it tell you where the nearest main lego stores are but i dont think there are any in the lower mainland.

i read that as:

"where to buy lego legally?"

did not know it was a crime to build plastic forts.

I was down at lego world (Bellevue) 2 weeks ago to buy Grand Emporium, got too excited and totally forgot about the other set I was going to get, anyway, its the 8398, a cheap set but i would use some parts for my cafe corner. I checked 2 ToysRus (metro and W.Boardway) they both didnt carry it and when I check their web site its not even listed. so somehow I think they dont carrry it. if anmyine sees it please let me know.

Yeah those small little things are really hard to find. Most retailers only have the big stuff. Try the Grandville island toy company they do have lots of kids toys aswell. Better yet call in and ask.

I don't know why, but when I was younger I managed to get 3 sets of those LEGO Bionicle ones, the normal ones, the mutated ones, and those ball-shaped ones. Then the series got all retarded and by then I lost interest.

Making LEGO guns was fun as hell though.

That's funny - of all the creations you could have picked from people around the world, you picked something that was built by someone who happens to live in the Lower Mainland - Burnaby I think! :D

I love lego, I grow up playing with buckles and buckles of them since mom worked at a very big toys import/export company back in the days ... I remember threw them out the door/window to our kids and swallowed most fo the tiny ones ... let's hope they went through the system by them, lol ....

but, I do think lego nowaday doesn't leave much room for imagination for little kids ... they all come in different shapes and pictures painted on them ... compare to just different size of bricks back them

I think buddy is suffering from the side effects of eating all that Lego as a kid.

Lego is wicked. I picked up the new Seattle Space Needle and Empire State Building one recently. Oh how I miss my old legos. WTF was I thinking giving it away.

I love lego but my family was broke as shit and I never had any of my own.

Lego is the shit tho.

i loved lego as a kid. in our family we do christmas presents christmas even and my family would always be pissed that id have my new lego thing built by the time i went to bed christmas eve. i still have a photo album somewhere of all the lego things i created when i was a kid.

its such an amazing learning tool for children. at first it teaches you how to follow directions and build something, and then later use your imagination to create your own.

AznK 03-18-2010 01:50 PM

I put all my lego into storage. I had a whole fuckin city. Seems like the OP is doins something similar.

Post it up!!!

I think I remember Gumby's post back in the day.

skillznrice 03-18-2010 05:33 PM

when i was about 6, lego showed me how imagination comes out the most in life. i still remember the first ever object i created...it was suppose to be a building but ended up a crane. i even stole my mothers camera and took pictures of it. i should dig up the pictures :)

shenmecar 03-18-2010 06:03 PM

Lego is win. End of story. Fuck you all who thinks Lego sucks, you are obviously the deprived kid who never got to play with Lego.
