NSX scam?

Well for my next car I'm getting a NSX

Anywho, found a unreal deal to good to be true. Heres what I got back from my email.

Hello and sorry for delay Mike,

Thanks for being interested in buying my Black 1992 Acura NSX. All power and optional equipment work perfect, the car is in a good condition, no scratches, no damages, never been involved in any accident, no problems on the engine, it runs very well, it has a clear title, a perfect car! The car has 90000 Km, is black with Tan leather. My last price is $11,000. You may wonder why I ask this small amount for this car. Well, the truth is that I have only few months to live and want to enjoy the remaining time. As I have no family left, the car will be the gift from me to a stranger. All I want is to find the right person who will love and take care of this car, as I did. Now I'm in Europe in my last trip but the car is stil in Canada. We will use only eBay Vehicle Purchase Protection to complete this deal. If you are interested and you have the needed money email me back to explain you how you can get this car.

This sounds a bit fishy to me

People who scam are complete morons, this is so obvious.

I think you are very stupid for even having to make a thread about this.

People who think things like this have the slightest chance of being true(ex: OP) are even bigger morons...

Don't know how many times I've heard this one. Probably follow up by giving you a case number ID or some story about how ebay will help with the sale.

bcedhk 03-22-2010 07:59 PM

hes probably going to say "please send the money to my brother in law in Zimbabwe, he is really sick and needs the money first. so please send a western union check to this address

if it is too good to be true, it usually is.

mas604 03-22-2010 08:06 PM

definitely a scam. gone through something similar to this.

kookoobird88 03-22-2010 08:12 PM

never hurts to double check with RS. I've never delt with a scammer before, this just sounded odd to me so i wanted some more opinions.

scam or not, ill post up his replies

orange7 03-22-2010 08:16 PM

scam

hchang 03-22-2010 08:20 PM

Should most likely be a scam.

Most transactions that requires wiring of money and/or shipping of cars are most likely fake, and on top of that, he's only asking for such a low price, which would make it more of a scam. If he's dying and wants to "gift" the car to a stranger, why not actually gift it? Instead of still asking money. Or why won't he give it to a family member, or a good friend of his/her?

You should play along for a bit, I find it really funny to screw around with somebody whos trying to scam me.

Have fun!

You should tell the seller that you're originally from Nigeria.

I was just going to suggest that. Tell him your the son of the King of your village and he's left you millions of dollars and would like his help in escorting the money out of the country.

I'm actually living in Europe now and bought another one here so that's why I'm selling it cheap, let me know if your interested...

you forgot to mention the payment method. Usually done through some online system, not in person.
