I've seen some wrx sedans but with this widebody kit... is there a big enough audience for the sti after they have widebody for their wrx

I think so. I doubt anyone who was going to buy a STI would change their mind and get a WRX instead because it was "close enough". With the pricing being a whole ten grand apart, the cars are in two different markets imo.

Actually for the Canadian Market, the price differences of a 2010 WRX LIMITED and a 2010 STi Base is about $3500 ONLY.

As of March 2010, the MSRP of WRX Hatch Limited is $36,395, while the MSRP for the BASE STI is $39,995.

I know the 08+ Canadian STis are relatively cheaper than 04-07.

But, if you factor in insurance costs in BC, the coverages for the WRX are much cheaper than the STI.

holy crap i had no idea the new STI was so cheap!

STis were always in the sub 40k price range, so are the EVOs (41k), if they were any more expensive 50-60+ they are entering M3/C63 money which is stupid.

n3w8ie-aler 03-24-2010 09:53 PM

when i dropped by subaru to see some wrx/sti they said all the wrx are sold out "hot cars" and new shipment wont be in until couple of months. This was couple months ago, i even see older ladies driving wrx

Yeah, that's what I remember it to be as well. I also remember G35 coupes were about $52,000, and S2k's were an exorbitant $54,000 hahaha. You wonder who would pay that kind of money for these cars, and yet they're all over the streets. *shrug*

Yup.
My 04' STi msrp'd for $48,500, while my my 06' STi msrp'd for $49,900.
It's amazing to see what they've done with the pricing making it more affordable, until you see what they've taken away to get to that price point.

This is a step in the right direction for the STi. I'm just tired of new designs every two years. As an owner of every GD style they released, I've seen first hand the values drop when they release a new model. Other than the GR change, there was nothing ground breaking either. Just change, for sake of change.

Loaded STI, aka "STI Sport Tech package" has a MSRP of $45,995, as of March 2010.

Am I becoming a salesman for Subaru? lol

I was ordering a 2010 WRX limited, but I thought I should wait for the 2011 WRX now :D [3 months counting]

wtf thats a wrx? it looks exactly like a sti if it was the brakes and the exhaust that gave it away.

Jackygor 03-31-2010 10:40 AM

Humm looking at those pics, they better make the new STi Sedan look more badass or come stock with 350hp or something crazy. Then again they gonna raise the price to something stupid like 50k+ if that happens.

wasabisashimi 03-31-2010 11:16 PM

wider fender = bigger tires? on a WRX? and with quad exhaust (probably will never see production)
