Nintendo 3DS... huh? So I saw on Twitter that IGN blogged about Nintendo's new 3DS... The successor to the DS which allows 3D effects without glasses. Then it appeared on N4G... But still not a very reliable source. But within the comments of N4G, someone posted a link to a PDF on nintendo.jp which clearly states they'll be announcing the 3DS as E3. Sounds retarded though Edit: Blogs are starting to pick it up. Here's joystiq's post. |
I don't think that this will do well can't see many people justified to go out and get this just because its in 3D |
I've heard that they're making it bigger, too.. |
Not sure how that's going to work... I think all current 3D technology is based on 120Hz refresh rate... |
now all the kids at restaurants will be wearing weird 3D glasses ... and chatting on their berries when they're not |
They will sell a but load of these just like they did with the Wii. Nintendo knows there target audience. |

hahaha it's late --> reading fail |
price tag probably around $250 now? since DSi is like $180ish |
i thought they wre releasing the Dsi XL or something..with thelarger screens? i think if the DS wasn't mod friendly they would probably only have half to 2/3 of their current sales. |

at this point, i cant doubt nintendo anymore, anything they sell, it sells like hotcakes keep in mind that unlike psp where the mods is the main selling point, nintendo is catering to soccer moms and grand parents playing overpriced crap call it stupid, call it pointless, but after a year this is released, every competitor will try to copy it i guess the next nintendo console is due to be announced next year or so |
they're trying to get it out into the market earliest march 2011 so the dsi would probably be down to about 130 or so by then and this would be maybe just above 200 |

http://www.wirefresh.com/images/gami...sole-stats.jpg the Wii and ds has sold, by far, the most consoles compared to ps3 and xbox |

keep in mind that the gamecube was being sold for $50 near the end of its life span considering the wii is an enhanced gamecube 1.5 in hardware features and their selling it for $200, their making rediculous amount of profit on their consoles right from infancy while the ps3 was being sold for less than it cost to manufacture it in the first 3 years. not to mention their controller peripherals where if you add up the wiimote, motion plus and nunchuck (adds up to $70+) its definitely more than what a ps3 controller or even a wireless 360 controller which now sells for $30 and their first party titles that sells millions of copies, yet their production value is considerably cheaper than lets say Gears of War or GoW3 which rumoured to have cost $90 million to make, at $60 a game, Nintendo is sitting on huge amount of cash every holiday season. |
I belive sony is the only loser in this, even though i love my ps3. Xbox live is a huge cashcow for microsoft |
Sony then will come up with a crazy 3D console that will only work with there new sony 3d tvs made for gaming. |
^ sony is claiming it will add 3d capabilties to the ps3 since these tvs are due at the end of this year the poster above with the failure rates is a complete BS number...no one will release those failure rates. |
i wonder how much wii sales will drop when natal comes out for xbox =/ |
I don't think it's gonna work as true 3D... all the technology that allow 3D display without glasses so far need to be viewed at certain angle, and angles are very limited as far as I'm aware. There's a reason why all major display producers opted for some form of stereoscopic 3D. unless Nintendo comes up with certain 3D optical touch-sensing (currently a technology developed by Sony) or Project Natal-ish control that interact better with the 3D viewing angle, else I don't see how exactly it's gonna work. |

this is the dsi ware game thats coming out it uses the camera in dsi for head tracking since this can b done on the DS now, id be dissapointed with Nintendo if 3DS does similar effect |

considering stupid people make the world go round, throwing out a gimmick like this should sell like mad. I mean has Nintendo *really* come out with anything new in the last however many years? Every game is just a new version of Mario Kart, Super Mario, Super Smash Bros, Zelda, or Pokemon... |
