Lansdowne Carnival

Has anybody went yet? I drove around by there last night! Looks tempting to go on a sunny day today. Before I go for my first time, how was your experience at the carnival for those who went there in the past?

Greenstoner 03-24-2010 08:28 AM

last time i went to a carnival was 8 or 9 years ago in coquitlam center...

its was okay, nothing special, IIRC it was pretty pricey...(maybe i was just a student before so it seems pricey??)

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-24-2010 08:34 AM

saw it on fri night, they got most of their shit setup and stuff

A bunch of reasonable rides.

+1 on expensive! From what I remember from previous years, the good rides took 6-7 tickets, and tickets were like $2 each? I could be mistaken.

gnat. 03-24-2010 10:30 AM

it's not bad, just to go with friends for one night. but the rides are somewhat limited. obviously nothing like playland.
recommended if you just wanna go and check it out. but don't have high expectations of cheap tickets/food, and a wide variety of rides.

I just like to go and waste money on the games, man those are fun loaded

hk20000 03-24-2010 11:10 AM

Mugen EvOlutioN 03-24-2010 11:51 AM

you can still get those coupons for free at the lansdowne mall customer service

6 rides for $13..pretty decent i think

hchang 03-24-2010 01:39 PM

6 rides for $13?
Pretty expensive imo.

I'd rather just wait for the PNE, they have a lot more selection of rides.

What I find disgusting about the carnival at lansdowne each year is that every corner I turn there'd be somebody slouched over the garbage can throwing up, or puke on the ground somewhere. And almost every garbage can has puke inside. I don't know why this is so common, but I've never seen this kind of problem at Disneyland, or PNE.

smk 03-24-2010 01:48 PM

when does the lansdowne carnival end?

you know on a regular busy day at pne...you'd be lucky to even get on 6 rides for a $20 day pass right?...the wait for each ride is prob like 45 mins to an hour..
6 for $13 is pretty reasonable imo minus the fact there aren't rollercoasters

Just gotta pick the right day to go dude.

Last year I planned and found a day where the overcast was cloudy with a little chance for showers.

Turned out with no rain, and there were little to no line ups for everything.

FI-Z33 03-24-2010 06:03 PM

i used to always go..but now come to think of it, the carnival's been around for many years already..and they keep taking it apart, and rebuilding it...i just don't trust them anymore haha

hk20000 03-24-2010 08:18 PM

hahah this year one of the container truck has bumblebee painted on the side coz it "transforms" into carnival.

Mkhun 03-25-2010 02:36 AM
