highly doubt the games will come back to vancouver, but you can always hope |
I'm not sure how this stupid rumor got started, but there is no credibility to it whatsoever. Yes, they have A LOT to build still, including all their public transit infrastructure and most venues. But the Russians are extremely proud people, and Putin would rather have 1/2 of Russia's population die through intense manual labor, 24 hours a day, to get everything complete in time rather than concede the Olympic games. |

If Salt Lake had their right to host taken away because of the scandal, they were considering Calgary as an alternate. Read it on wikipedia. Its true. |
It really makes you wonder how corrupt the IOC really is. Sochi had no infrastructure whatsoever but yet they give them the winter games. I'm sure Sochi will be building half the venues days before the games but the IOC really needs to do a better job of handing out the games to cities that need massive infrastructure work. It sort of reminds me of the World Cup this year, SA is having issues with unions and overall quality of the stadiums and in return half the tickets remain unsold. |

yeah last to enter, and first to finish. you know the US is the only military force capable of mobilizing 100 000+ troops to anywhere in the world in one month and have a sufficient logistical system to support those troops. logistical support is the main thing, your troops are useless without the proper fuel, food, bullets whatever else they need. |
