That's kind of my point. Everyone has their own idea of how things should be, and predictions of what will happen in our future. I am all about sharing these ideas, even if people disagree. If people can share their opinion without acting like a brainwashed fucking moronic twat, then they are welcome to do so.
But if all they do is post stupid pointless bullshit over and over, they will fail and fail until eventually they get permabanned just for being so damn annoying. Starting a thread in my name is one step towards that.

what culture I am bringning in is beside the point. The point is, canadians need to realize that alot of the Chinese in Vancouver did not adpot to the "Canadian" culture just like the Europeans did not adpot to Native culture.
If Canada really does have a culture to adpot into, and the culture is good, I am sure it wil occur naturally. However the sad truth is canada does not really have a culture that has depth. You have to think why immigrants adpot to American cultures much quickly and willingly (and we already think american culture is trashy) than immigrants adpoting to Canadian culture, if there is any.
You know the further you want to poke into this matter the more obvious it will be to you why Canadian culture was not adpoted by many, and the truth may hurt your self esteem.

Every country is run differently, and every country protects its citizen. In Canada drugs are ilegal because the government believes its bad for our citizen's physical health.
In China pornography is ilegal because because the government believes its bad for our citizen's mental health.
The truth is, people have very little self control, thats why the government needs to do its part. If everyone just do whatever we like Vancouver will soon be overrun by drug addicts and no longer suitable for living, you know that.

The Europeans didn't have to adopt (...or adpot...) Native culture. No dominant force adopts the culture of a conquered population. This place wasn't Canada until European settlers declared it to be so. Canada has already done so much to incorporate the indigenous people...but let's be clear...the Aboriginal people here are not Canada. They have sovereignty over their own lands. Canada was not Canada until it was established by the British North American Act in 1867.
No one here is saying that Chinese people need to become all Canadian all of a sudden once they come here. Sure, it annoys me that people can't speak English but whatever. Canada promotes multiculturalism.
What most people are saying here is that China and their backward ass ways of censorship, human rights violations, etc are ridiculous and fucked up. To suggest otherwise because it's "part of their culture" is just stupid. Oh yeah, that African warlord can go ahead and slaughter thousands and rape virgins to cure AIDS...it's all good because it's part of their culture. Kim Jong Il can kill everyone that suggests he isn't a god because...well, North Korean culture declares him a living deity. Yep, that's all fine.

So who is right? My stand is nobody is right, every civilzation has the right to determine how to run their country, and its up to noone's business to judge whether its backward or not. China has censorship partly because of their moral values, as sex and violence are a loong time taboo in the Chinese culture, and to me, its rather civilized, than backward as you suggest.
