A bit CR-Z action Since no one ever bothered to post any test driving footages of CR-Z here it is. Start with the awesome-meter: Then go for some engine sound: Then let's do a lap on Suzuka: Then let's put on some high grip tires and try some Ken Block Finally a full impression video for those who can understand the JDM language Bodykit by Mugen: Dunnno kind of meh. What do you think? |
how much hp do these things have? |

especially when honda's trying to sell it as a 'sporty' image |
it got globs of torque from the motor assist at the low range so it should feel quite peppy though. "sports" it probably is but fast it isn't. |
the future looks grim. |
i would DD one |
zzzzzzzz :sleepy: |
Quote:
not worth having it as a DD cause it'd be pretty useless for those unexpected moments. |
lol, understeer much? |
exhaust sounds weak |

what the hell happen to all the people that worked on NSX, S2000, Prelude, Integra Type R, CR-X, Civic Type R go, did they all get brain fucked or something. Seems like the good old Red Honda badge will soon be gone forever. Honda will be known as the new Toyota if they keep this shit up. Soichiro Honda must be rolling in his graves. should be mandatory that everyone working at Honda have this mounted on their walls http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._2874388_n.jpg or this will work too http://hondamix.com/attachment.php?a...7&d=1262891294 Sigh, wake the fuck up Honda.... please ? |

The car looks meh to me, the rear is way too huge. And that exhaust sounds like crap. I'm sorry but a brand new, factory exhaust should sound smooth, not all rattle-y. Oh, and the gauge cluster looks like some kind of casino game. Quote:

even though it's named CR-Z it looks like in reality they made an Insight II (remember the first insight was basically the same idea too, 2 door "coupe" for personal mobiliity) and the insight itself was more like a Fit Hybrid... it's the tree-hugging hairdresser's coupe. You can see the lineage from these pictures. http://www.automedia.com/NewCarBuyer...ight_ext_1.jpg http://www.treehugger.com/honda-crz-hybrid-photo01.jpg |
The mugen Cr-z looks kinda pretty at the very least. Look at it as a better looking, more fuel efficient, and much more expensive version of a Fit which people love modding with anyways. |
^ but performance modification on a hybrid engine is still a very touchy area... |
that's why i compared it to a fit. Not like very many people mod them for performance; mostly for aesthetics |

For many those "unexpected" moments are part of the daily routine. |
I dunno at least Fit can run turbo and random engine swaps like K20A swaps are available to them.....CR-Z is stuck with the drivetrain it came with. |
Honda has disappointed me in their sport car department. I guess they decided they will move on and focus on Hybrids. |

Just watched June 2010 BM and here are some crucial specs and facts about the CRZ Around a simple oval lap (they did an olympic style 6-lap 1000m Oval Pursuit challenge with it) 1. Honda CR-Z 2'57"50 2. Renault Twingo RS 2'58"44 3. Fiat Abarth 500 2'59"47 4. Suzuki Swift 3'00"50 Fuel economy 1. Honda CR-Z 19.37km/l 2. Fiat Abarth 500 19.17km/l 3. Suzuki Swift 15.34km/l 4. Renault Twingo RS 12.25km/l Fiat is surprisingly good on gas. And then 0-400 (quarter mile, Top gear would say VW for Very Wet) 1. Fiat Abarth 500 15"794 2. Renault Twingo RS 16"729 3. 1989 Honda CR-X Si 16"779 4. Suzuki Swift 16"810 5. Honda CR-Z 17"256 LOL @ 1989 CRX 3 laps battle in Tsukuba 1000 (small) Course, best lap time: 1. Renault Twingo RS 50"809 2. Honda CR-Z 50"501 Looks like it's just like the old days, you buy it, and put mods in it to the tits, only to get railed on by a Toyota Camry. |
I'm loving the Mugen CR-Z a lot more now... almost to the point where if I had the cash, I would get it. But dropping a B or a K in my CRX, I think, would create a hell of a lot more fun driving |
Meter is nice. Nothing else is. |
