No info on if she's required to do any psych treatment?

IMO, 5 years is pretty short for killing 2 kids (even the crown asking for 8 years seems short) if she was deemed to be of sound mind.

Well, to top things off...the guy who knocked her up married her.

So...

Yeah...

Till death do us apart, right? :inoutugh:

Or in this case, jail.

Also, why isn't the guy getting anything? Surely he can be considered an accomplice?

She did undergo a psych assessment prior to sentencing: Mom who killed babies getting psych assessment before sentencing | CTV Vancouver News

Here is the full text of the judgement if anybody cares to read it: 2014 BCSC 1894 R. v. Leung

I was there yesterday during the sentencing.

He didn't know she did it.

While it's possible to hide things from others, how can you not know that your GF was pregnant for 9 months, gave birth, and then "disposed" of the baby? :suspicious:

fliptuner 10-08-2014 12:01 PM

Twice

dvst8 10-08-2014 12:11 PM

It was mentioned that the husband had known about the pregnancy

Majestic12 10-08-2014 12:40 PM

Yeah, he knew she was pregnant, but she claimed miscarriage. I don't know if she did it both times or whatever, but I know that he wasn't involved in any criminal activity.

I just mentioned this to a few of my friends and this made me absolutely sick to my stomach.

I'm just glad she needs supervision so that she doesn't have to do this anymore.

I can't judge her, I don't know her, but god have mercy on her soul and the two infants who died in her wake.

why not just have abortions? why bring the child to term and kill it?

Most likely she was feeling pressure from parents and her boy friend. It sounds like her boyfriend wanted the kids but her parents are conservative and they didn't want her to have kids out of wedlock.

So she probably wasn't in the best state of mind to do anything about it until the event actually happened. I'm pretty sure aborting a baby is one of the, if not the hardest thing for a woman to endure physically and psychologically.

Wow that's sick!!
