Btw, Autoglym HD wax is $37.xx at Canadian Tire this week, and whatever other Autoglym products they carry are also 25% off.

Only Mobil1 0W40 is made in Europe anyways.

Kind of off topic.. but what kind of credit card do you guys use down in the states?

American Funds? Cause my card charges 2.5% on purchases made if not in Canadian, still works out to be cheaper than buying it here in Canada... but just wondering.

Or do you guys use cash?

saiko 04-06-2010 03:54 PM

Was down there on Sunday picking up my parents from Bellingham Airport and picked up a few goodies..

Walmart:

Meguiars Clay Bar Kit - $15.95 ** It's around $29 here?
http://www.lhautodetailing.com/produ...sSSClayKit.jpg

Meguiars Leather Conditioner - $4! **Atleast 8-9 bucks here at lordco

Picked up cleaner wax, mobil1 10w30 $23.50~ **40's here?
Quaker State regular oil, $10.50~ **20's here I think..

4.73L's!

Don't forget NXT Wax is a good one also.

I picked up most of my products down in Walmart USA, at pretty much 1/2 price to CDN Counterparts.

----------

Also, for anyone that likes to pick up some spare car parts here and there.

www.Rockauto.com = best site I found for the lowest cost parts. (Sometimes, you can find a 10% off coupon code online)

Get the goods shipped to Blaine or something, and pick it up. In some cases, you will save well over 50%.

you! 04-06-2010 11:40 PM

Bmo used to have a no annual fee US$ Canadian Credit Card but not any more its $25/yr
http://www4.bmo.com/creditcards/usdo...277448,00.html

here are the other options available...http://www.chargecards.ca/american_dollar_cards.php

In my opinion not worth opening up a card, unless you shop in the us / online alot.
Stick with cash if possible.

hirevtuner 04-07-2010 02:51 PM

i change all my cad$ to usd$ before i go so i pay all in cash

jackmeister 04-07-2010 02:56 PM

The good thing about using credit card when making purchases is that many cards have this warranty that protects you for 90 days from having it stolen or broken.

Last time I went to USA for shopping and paid cash for everything, when i came back (flying), my luggage was opened and shit got stolen. called visa and they said im outta luck unless it was purchased on visa.

fliptuner 04-07-2010 03:29 PM

cash

valent|n0 04-21-2010 09:21 AM

I have RBC Visa (cad$ fund) - I use it in the state all the time. It was just Cad - USD conversion at the bank rate... I don't think there is 2.5% charge..

What visa card do you have?

Well, not sure if you guys are talking about the same thing or not, but generally they tack on about 2.5% to their conversion rate.

TypeRNammer 04-21-2010 12:19 PM

Premium Gas 92 OCT

95 cents per litre ^_^

skyxx 04-21-2010 12:19 PM

^ I think he meant like a "Service Charge".

There's no Service charge for using Visa cards. Not that I know of anyways but they do charge you an extra 2.5% towards the current conversion rate. :)
