| Camping in BC
So summer is coming up and some of us that enjoy the outdoors are going to go on camping trips of course.
Just wanted to ask if you guys know many good lakes or nice isolated spots to pitch a tent and slam back some beers without little kids running around, being surrounded by a bunch of families to tell you to be quiet and no cops to tell you to pour your beer.
I usually go to Harrison lake, around the east side of the lake by a logging road about 40 minutes in there is a nice spot. Used to be isolated and free, but now they have some guys standing collecting money to per night and some out houses. Still a nice place. Pitch the tent 3 meters from the crystal clear lake and be as rowdy as you want.

If you want a place to be rowdy, try caroline mines just after Hope. If you're up for a decent hike to get to your camp ground, head to Golden Ears and hike the West Canyon trail until Alder Flats. That's a nice campsite with a river running by it and it's only about a 2.5 - 3 hour hike.

Last year me and a couple of buddies took an inflatable boat to the island, heard there was an awesome lake on it, but when we go there waves picked up and we had to get a motor boat to pick us up......

if you don't mind hiking up a mountain with all your gear, you can go to greendrop lake which starts off the base of chilliwack lake. the lakes up there are clean but 0 deg C. it's pure outdoor camping, where you set your own fires and cook your own food (except we brought our own). hiking up that mountain is not easy, but it was worth it. the first day, we pitched our tent in the rain and the next day it was sunny with clear skies.
