What was the point of that news report on TV?

I'm almost sure she got that wrong...because 160km/h is...slow. What's the point of all those supercars if you can only drive them at half their speed?

To show that China is growing as a world economic power and that certain members of the population are getting very rich, very quickly so companies that were previously not interested in China are now entering that market to take advantage of the gains.

unlikely. just because their fathers/guardians pass on their business to them doesn't mean they will have the power to make decisions.. in good reason too.
none of those children even look like they know how to run a business.. so i'm sure some other high level exec will probably take over and make all the decisions or a board of executives will make the decisions..

and the child will just play a figure role.. and just get paid for doing nothing.

+1 , im sure the event they setup has rules that limit the speed. (maybe tats where the correspondent got her info from).. but im sure like many rules in china, they won't follow it.
