ward's best interiors - 2010

kind of amazing to see 2 GM interiors on the list, when you think about it. they've come a long way from the awful plastic interiors of the late 1990s and mid 2000s.

The 2010 Ward's Auto Interior of the Year winners are:
Subaru Outback (Popular-priced car under $29,999)
Infiniti M56 (Premium-priced car)
Lexus HS 250h (Hybrid car)
Chevrolet Camaro (Sports car)
Chevrolet Equinox (Popular-priced truck under $39,999)
Volvo XC60 (Premium-priced truck)
Acura ZDX (Design Breakthrough)
Mazdaspeed3 (Brand Expression)
BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo (Design Versatility)
Porsche Panamera (Inspired Design)

Surprised the Mazdaspeed's interior made it in there, but then I read the caption "Brand Expression" and then I agreed - yes, very zoomy interior but my god the red dots make me think of measles.

And it's plasticky.

The Subaru, Lexus, and Equinox are all beautiful. The Camaro is awful. I think the Volvo would be acceptable if it weren't for the fugly steering wheel.

Notably missing: Audi & Ford, imo... I think they happen to be making some of the best interiors at the moment.

more details on how the awards are determined?

cause I honestly can think of much better interiors.

For example, where is the hyundai genesis sedan?

i agree, the the outback and the equinox have nice interiors. although i'm not too fond of the seats in the equinox.

i like the taurus' interior. very nice imo.

edit: also the m56 interior is like 90% identical to the current M35/45s

nissan definitely lacks with interiors imo

only the infiniti and porsche looks nice. how the hell can that camaro get in there?

a 370Z interior already looks better than that.

the only thing that makes the volvo interior look nice is the wood grain design

The centre looks to be inspired by a gutting a 1997 Pioneer head unit. UuuhhGGggly

imho the volvo interior is OK, just a poor choice of wood/colour combo that ruins it.

Happiness is like pissing your pants, because everyone can see it, but only you feel the warmth.

It applies here in the sense that some of these cars have ass ugly exteriors and nice interiors

The Infiniti's is gorgeous. Love how everything just "flows".
The Volvo's is nice too. The floating center panel can't be seen from that straigh-on shot though. And I agree - a better color pallette is needed.

Ya... these interiors aren't anything special, more buttons hurrah! How can there be awards for 2010 when its not even over yet hell we arent even halfway through the year! (or do you mean 2010 cars released in 2009?)

When I look at an interior, I look for what it feels like to sit in the car while im driving, I want the interior to wrap around me, good example is the Supra Interior how everything is focused on the driver and it still looks clean.

lol the camaro's looks bland and cheap aside from a pretty cool steering wheel
surprised that's the best "sports car" they could come up with as far as interiors go...

Doesn't matter how NICE the interior of a ZDX or a 5-Series GT is. I still ain't getting near either of them.

the infiniti, lexus, zdx, and porsche are the best and all the other ones are cheap garbage. i based my choices off the interior leather other than the leather seats for comfort. I feel safer having more leather and less plastic in the interior
