Red Card Sports Bar
On Smithe just off the intersection of Seymour and Smithe, friends and I went there last night for dinner before the Conan show.
It's a pretty good sized space, with a 'high end sports bar' feel. It's not too frou-frou, but at the same time not the kind of place a bunch of construction workers will go to for some after-work drinks.
They have a huge selection of beers on tap (16 total!), with a great selection of bottled beers as well as hard liquors (scotches, etc.)
For the food, I started off with the Calamari with Chili Aioli, then their Margherita Pizza. They have an authentic italian pizza oven, and I've read they've actually flown in a chef from Italy to operate it. The head chef was the guy who used to run the kitchen at Cincin.
My friends got the Red Card pizza, which had bell peppers and sausage, and a mushroom pizza with some kind of cured ham.
The pizza was pretty good, albiet expensive ($14 for a simple margherita). A great room to chill with a few buddies and watch the game that's not your typical dive sportsbar.
