I've always stuck with Vancouver; I have no interest with the BS that swirls around the Surrey parade.
ya vancouver one is dope because its like one massive highschool reunion. pretty much know half the dudes there. the surrey one is different. dont know too many people and again. get stared down. and on top of that. they got straight up babbar khalsa running around that shit. FUCKKK that noise. ill keep it in the hood.
the epic thing is that it rained for them today. i dont remember the last time we got rain during nagar kirtin in vancouver. thats a big F YOU from god to those fundis

The thing is with the Surrey one it's the highschool kids that ruin it with starting fights with rival schools and what not but the MAIN difference is in Vancouver, people can actually put aside there problems and celebrate Vasakhi together(which is why I only go to the Vancouver one). Living in Delta, it's much easier going to the Surrey parade but then again I don't want to shake hands with like 100 people throughout the day so instead I usually just sit and watch the parade from the balcony at my cousins house on Main lol.

I felt like I was driving through India... and all the orange turbans everywhere. I thought they weren't allowed to have those flags and posters with the terrorists? Don't the orange turbans mean they are showing their support?
I can't believe the city spends my fucking tax dollars on this bullshit. I want to go to India with all my buddies and have a "Western Whiteman parade". And get the city to pay for it. Let's see how well that goes over.
Although I don't go as much anymore, I want to clarify something before all attendees get brandished as extremists.
The reason I would go to the parade was to walk around with family and friends, socialize with others and eat free food. It never felt like a religious event but rather a community event.
The extremists make up a small minority of the event and don't necessarily represent the voice of all those attending.

I AGREE, we seem to be throwing the only events giving free FOOD for everyone yet everyone bickers and complains how many community do you see do that.. not to many that i've been too.
