I purchased this car in 2008, with 79,000 kms. It’s been my daily driver since then. It’s now at 104,5xx kms. Being a car guy, I’ve kept it properly maintained through out this time.
This car has never given me any trouble, not that I would expect it to, being only 6 years old. It’s quite peppy but still good on gas; I can manage 8L/100 with city driving. Just put it through aircare for the first time after the exemption period expired, it passed.
Good:
It’s a 5-speed manual car, fully loaded with power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, A/C, tilt steering wheel, 60/40 split rear seats, premium cloth seats, fog lights
It has a few modifications, all suspension mods have only 20,000kms on them -
Lowered 1.8in with Canuck Motorsports Springs (high quality springs produced locally, not made overseas)
Tokico HP sport shocks and struts (can include stock springs and dampers with sale)
Short Ram Intake with oiled cone filter
Panasonic MP3 deck with motorized faceplate
Sub/amp hook up in the trunk; ready for a system to be dropped in
Tinted windows (5% in the back 3 windows and 35% fronts)
17’’ motegi ff5 rims (optional)
The front brakes (pads and discs) are less than 2000kms old
The 14’’ tires that are on the car are at 90% tread
The 17’’ tires has 70% tread up front, with rears that need to be replaced soon
Bad:
The car is a rebuilt. Though the damage wasn’t extensive, and it was repaired properly. Only the hood and front bumper was replaced, with no damage to the radiator and back (I can show you where the repairs were made). Because of this, the front bumper and hood are in primer blue. (as you can see from the pictures).
The car drives like new, handles better than stock, and it looks pretty good too. You will pay less than half of what you would pay for a civic or protégé from the same vintage. And you won’t find another Ecotec equipped Z-type/Z24 for less.
