carpet cleaning

so the carpets/mats in my car are red. looks great, but now I know why most carpets are black. black hides dirt beautifully, red does not. next time i'm going to ask people to take off their shoes before they get in the car haha.

the carpets and mats desperately need a good shampoo/clean. what's the easiest way to do this DIY?

how bad are they? have you consider re-dyeing them?

Vacuum thoroughly, spray with APC until damp and scrub with upholstery brush. Allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. At this point I usually soak the mats with the hose, rescrub and rinse thoroughly with the hose. Hang to dry and then vacuum to raise the nap. For the carpets, spray with APC, scrub with stiff brush and wipe with towel. Lightly mist the carpets with clean water and wipe down again so you don't leave any APC residue on the carpets as it will actually attract dirt.

vacum, spary down using pressure washer, then soup it...scrub it, dry it
