Don't think you're being the better man by being a douche that purposely slows down.
You're being an asshole, just from the other perspective.

Has anyone considered the thought of moving over to the slow lane?

Case-in-point was this weekend. Had a beat-up MKI GTI tailgating the living shit out of me on West Saanich Road. I didn't want to play, but his tailgating pissed me off enough to boost away from him on a straight stretch; no need to floor it, just a light 3 psi pull.
i just had to LOL at this post.
how are you showing him whos boss?
hes tailgating you because he wants to go faster.
all you're doing by speeding up is giving him exactly what he wants, not teaching him a lesson.

Is that a custom title that he has? How fitting

It was more of a figure of speech. I was already traveling a bit over the limit, so there's no need to go any faster on a semi-wet back-road, let alone have some stupid driver thinking he's "the shit" tailgating me.

I boosted away from him so I don't get rear-ended, not to mention my turn off was only a couple hundred meters up. Thus getting away from him gave me adequate room to signal, slow down, and slowly turn onto my road (my power steering isn't hooked up right now, so slow-speed turning with a 4000lb car can be a bit difficult). Bit of a convoluted method, but that's what I did, and it worked at the time.

Though there's a huge temptation to blind the fuck out of the douchbags behind tailgating you, I don't see how this will make anything better except making the situation escalate.

the left lane is for passing only, not cruising below the speed limit, even if your doing the limit GTFO out of the left lane!

I always move to the the right hand lane when safe to allow them to pass me.
Sometimes they still tail me... so... i just turn my windshield washers on for a few seconds and spray their just recently washed/detailed car.

Also, when I'm driving my beater diesel vw on the right hand lane and someone is on my tail, I just floor it leaving a big puff of black smoke behind me...very ninja like...95% of the time they back off

i think thats your misunderstanding, that you think people tailgate because they think they're "the shit". its because they want to go faster than you, no other reason (unless you pissed them off and they're trying to piss you off in return).

Not in Vancouver! You're screwed in either lane. Left lane is for slow drivers and people turning left. Right lane has buses that are going 40 km/h
