Stupid solution for tailgaters

WTF, isn't this illegal? wouldn't it just cause the driver behind you to SHOCK and potentially slam into you?

Kim Jong Un 04-19-2010 11:19 PM

what a douche

fliptuner 04-19-2010 11:50 PM

Illegal? Yes.

Do I wish I had that when the cocksucker behind me thinks he needs super bright fogs on a clear night/highbeams on/his headlights out of adjustment on his lifted SUV? YES!!!

illicitstylz 04-20-2010 12:14 AM

it's been done before

HID reverse lights, toggle a switch to activate them. i'm sure you can find it on HT.

AVS_Racing 04-20-2010 12:31 AM

thats it im getting another hid kit tomorrow

boatcaptain 04-20-2010 12:42 AM

if some1 tailgates me i wud left foot brake and scared them lol

Jayboogz 04-20-2010 02:35 AM

I usually just slow down it works well enough for me, and if they r still tailing I would trap them in without giving them a chance to pass in two lane traffic.

:lol wow

unit 04-20-2010 09:29 AM

if im in the fast lane, i just let them pass obviously.
if theres only one lane, i just maintain my normal speed.

i wouldnt brake to scare them or slow down or try to piss them off on purpose.
if you brake to scare them and they rear end you, its their fault, but jokes still on you because you have to deal with an accident now.
if you slow down then you're just asking for confrontation, which will just piss you off and get you all riled up over nothing.

AzNightmare 04-20-2010 09:34 AM

SO where is the difference between being vigilant about tailgaters, and simply moving
aside because you're not the damn police?

I've heard both sides of the story.

actually in the driver's manual they tell you to slow down and/or keep at the posted speed limit..that way it gives the tailgater more distance/reaction time to brake

Who's got that youtube of the mazda 3 who put an airsoft gun in the front grill. lol...

Once I was going up the street casually at the speed limit on nanimo next to a van.
some punk kid in a prelude couldn't pass us so after tailgating both of us and weaving back and forth what does he do? cross the yellow and pass in opposing traffic barely missing a bus.
Guess why me and the van were going the speed limit... Police had a car pulled over up ahead.
Guess who the cops visited next....
It was nice driving past the kid, who got pulled out and cuffed, giving him a wave.

what'd he get pulled out and cuffed for?

Rogue951 04-20-2010 11:06 AM

I assume for wreckless/dangerous driving.
Unless they had something else in the computer on him.

for being an idiot

Dentz 04-20-2010 11:18 AM

I stick to my guns, and keep it at the posted limit or the flow of traffic (ie. 60 in a 50). If the asshole persists, I'll open up the car's throttle a little and show em who's boss. Mind you most of my tailgaters are shitty econo-boxes wanting me to push the "go-fast-pedal."

Case-in-point was this weekend. Had a beat-up MKI GTI tailgating the living shit out of me on West Saanich Road. I didn't want to play, but his tailgating pissed me off enough to boost away from him on a straight stretch; no need to floor it, just a light 3 psi pull.

I don't know whether you or the van were in the left lane, but if both of you were doing the speed limit driving beside each other, then one of you was being an idiot for blocking the passing lane. Of course this is assuming that nothing was in front of the person in the left lane also, but if you're there and someone's coming up from behind you, you gotta move over, even if you're going speed limit. It always boils my blood when two butt buddies are driving beside each other on a two lane road and nothing's in front of them.

Phil@rise 04-20-2010 11:26 AM

Thats just stupid and your endangering yourself by doing that.
When some douchecanoe tailgates me I in a very controlled manner start slowing down till they pass me once on the hwy I slowed to 10kmh before they passed me. Don't hammer on the brakes your just gonna get hurt get a ticket and icbc won't cover your damages. Someone did that to me not to long ago for no reason just trying to get rear ended by a big 4x4 and when he called the cops claiming I rear ended him they charged him.

Mugen EvOlutioN 04-20-2010 12:23 PM

^

how can they prove it tho? thought rear enders always at fault?

wouldnt it be hard to prove? thought ICBC loves to make it 50/50

shit i need that, better than some asshole doing break checks lol

if you're doing 80 and being tailgated and you dropped to 60 and cruised, you're just asking for it. accident wise, the driver's manual is right... but you're asking to get road raged on.
