Windows 7 WIFI problem

I had this problem before but I dont remember how I fixed it

Well I formatted one of my laptops to Windows 7
I can't connect to any wifi connection regardless of security. It keeps failing
I tried manually putting settings and IP addresses
Any help?

so if you take your laptop to a different wireless router that works before and it won't work either or is it just that 1 particular wireless router?

Do you have any 3rd party wireless configuration software installed (i.e. Toshiba Configfree, HP Wireless Assistant, etc.) ?

If so, uninstall that software, reboot, and try again.

first of all when you hard wire connect, do you get connected to the internet? sometimes there is a power feature that shuts the power off to some devices and needs to be turned on manually...
