What if people paid for the HST now for thier tickets etc etc... and the Anti HST won and HST is cancel do WE GET OUR HST RETURN TO US? I am going to say no. The Gov will just keep it in their pockets.

How about the federal Conservative Party of Canada?

Without them pushing the tax, it wouldn't have happened.

nothing really LOL about that, switching between big political parties back and forth is actually pretty common.

I'm just curious, let's say NDP steps in few years down the road, can they get rid of HST easily?

Amuse 04-23-2010 11:19 PM

I have signed the petition but does that actually do anything?! I'm so pissed off when I hear about the HST basically everything being taxed now...
So will they start taxing school supplies and children's clothes as well?

is the HST only in BC?

its hard enought for BC people to live in peace.. pay is crap, rent is exspensive, interest kills people from taking loans.. on top of that we get taxed even more..

does this sound fair?

StylinRed 04-24-2010 04:01 AM

here's something odd, your signature on the petition to stop the hst is only valid if your a registered voter (fine) but the kicker is you have to have been registered before vander zalm kicked off his petition

Quote:

NOTICE: The initiative to end the harmonized sales tax (HST)

Only voters who are registered prior to midnight on April 6, 2010 are qualified to sign the petition to end the harmonized sales tax (HST). Please note that NEW registrations received at Elections BC after midnight on April 6, 2010 will not qualify that voter to sign the petition.
so citizens who were spurred to register (finally) to voice their opinion, don't count

My company does a couple million a year, and from what I'm seeing, this will do nothing for myself, or my customers except cost them more. Consider that my customers are some of the largest communication companies in Canada, and you see that this will bite into their bottom line. Or it would, if they didn't ask the CRTC to allow them to raise fees, therefore passing the cost to the subscriber. They're marketed as a tax that will benefit the average person, but in all the reading and studying I've done, I can't see where it's going to help anyone except the receiver general of Canada.

I know you're pissed about the HST, but this sort of attitude won't help anyone. I like how your sig says "Support the Bollywood industry" yet you state you'll flat out refuse to support your own province. It's clowns like you who will bitch about the medical industry, bitch about the roads, and bitch about crime, yet you're not willing to put into the budget to fix these things?

That's pretty fucking short sighted if you ask me.

Durrann 04-24-2010 10:17 AM

whaat? wow thats fucked up

i was planning to go on vacation in the summer and book before July 1st to avoid HST

now i HAVE to BOOK my vacation this week

wow fukn piece of shits.

TRD Rs200 04-24-2010 12:37 PM

FUCK THIS I am buying everything used or craigs

Amuse 04-24-2010 01:18 PM

HST will just decrease customers and they will find alternatives.

wahyinghung 04-24-2010 01:39 PM

I will buy more stuff state side..................

Hakkaboy 04-24-2010 03:47 PM

i seriously doubt that companies will pass on "savings" to its customers, but i am optmisitc that big companies who save big will be more inclined to increase their head count over the long term, so indirectly it *should* be beneficial to the economy as a whole

sucks for the hospitality/service industries tho...

you! 04-24-2010 04:36 PM

precollection?
what a crap load of bs...when did bc residents ever got some "pre collection" for the money they're about to receive?
fuk

Yc 04-24-2010 04:46 PM

well, there is no way to get rid of HST, that's for sure

big companies paid millions of dollars to implement the HST ..and here is a perfect example that gov't is working for the business not the ppl

Great68 04-24-2010 04:53 PM

My crystal ball tells me that the number of people using the black market is going to rise big time...

seakrait 04-24-2010 05:26 PM

i'm sure gordon campbell knows that this will kill his party's chance of winning the next election (as far away as it is)... so he's prepping his post-politician career by trading these tax breaks for companies for a cushy job in the industry.

Recoil 04-24-2010 08:20 PM

looks like there's much displeasure for this HST.

So how far you willing to go is the question....

rally / riot?

so how many are just gonna sit there and take it up the ass?
would you rather be the one taking it or giving it?

how many people would it take for the govt to give a shit?

rally / riot? interests?

i wonder.

dizzystar 04-25-2010 10:49 AM

this person will be buying more things from USA/HK

even clothes are going up, so even brown 'ballers' will have to buy their fake ed hardy crap at a higher price now unless they go ebay or jobber sites.

but fuck, looks like I will be buying the bear essentials in BC only, all the rest will be looking elsewhere, probably won't even be buying clothes at winners anymore... hello ebay!
