He would be only the third man to be killed by firing squad since the Supreme Court allowed states to have the death penalty in 1976.

Death row convicts in Utah were for decades allowed to choose their method of execution.

State legislators removed that choice in 2004 and made lethal injection the standard method - but inmates sentenced before then still have a choice.

He probably wants to go out in a blaze of gunfire

Injection all the way. Firing squad doesnt guarantee a quick painless death.

^^ You wouldn't really know if lethal injection is painless either. Some research shows that it might not be as painless as people think. It's supposedly painless.. but i dunno.

He choose to die like a man.

Execution squad should be the only way to go for executions.

I don't see any critics or proponents standing in line to try these methods out. Why care if its painless why should punishment be painless? When your dead your dead why would it matter to you if it hurt or not after your dead?

what if they miss and hit him in the nuts...... ouch....

i wonder if his family will pay for the rounds...i heard in China the family has to pay for it

The commanding officer of the firing squad will walk up to the victim to perform a coup de grâce with a pistol.

Honestly, if I had the same choice to make, I would go firing squad too. I always hated the doctors, and why go out like a pansy in a room full of them when you can give the people a real show. If the warden's nice enough I'd ask if he would allow me to smoke a fat cigar while it's happening too, might as well go out smokin :thumbsup:
