Freddy is the one horror movie series I can watch and I always cheer for him to survive lol. Was excited when I heard about this one, but after seeing the trailer I really don't want to watch it. The voice is nowhere near the same and it's gonna have the cheesiest of lines.

damn i was so excited for this... sounds like the movie is getting a lot of bad reviews..

i'm wondering if it's the ppl who are fans of the original that are giving it bad reviews, or if it's just people in general.

Huge fan of the orginals, watched them all many many times growing up. Went to watch this opening night and it is just not the same without Robert Englund, the new Freddy sucks a big dick. He made The Watchmen movie (Rorschach) but you just can't replace Freddy like that and expect more of the same. This movie didn't even really have any parts that made you jump either. Save your money.

I was a kid when the originals came out, I remember being so scared I wouldn't sleep at night because I thought Freddy was real and that I was watching some sort of documentary.

Saw the movie earlier, felt more like a sci-fi movie than a horror flick.

I dunno why people are complaining its bad.....The original series weren't ever considered good either.

Yet after 20 something years, Freddy is still popular enough to bring back to the theatres.

This movie was never supposed to be good in the first place...not a lot of horrors make it on a 'good' list to start with. For a cheesy slasher film to be considered good is just a bonus.

But definitely....Jackie Earle Haley wasn't a bad Freddy, but he was no Robert Englund. Haley made freddy look very depressing compared to the wicked nightmarish character that Englund brought out of Freddy.

But in comparison....this movie was a lot better than Michael Bay's rendition of Friday the 13th.
