That's not the point.
If you are in a public area with lots of people, the chances of someone macing you is less likely.

Your friend didn't get scammed. Your friend got robbed.

TheSalesman 04-27-2010 03:25 PM

I can't believe 2 hoodies are worth 1300 though.

I can't believe someone agreed to sell $1300 worth of goods in a Hastings alleyway.

no_clue 04-27-2010 04:54 PM

off topic but people call me and ask me for my address, and once I give it to them they never come by to look at my items. Is this a new scam or something?

Most of the time I try not to bring people over because they might come scope out your place and come rob you after.
Now they know what you have and where you live and they never showed up.
I wouldn't give out address for big items, maybe small things < $100

StealthFighter 04-27-2010 08:52 PM

I knew a Julia Tran, not hot though.

TheSalesman 04-27-2010 09:08 PM

Julia Tran is probably the kids mom.
Or....they maced a Julia Tran and used her phone to call you.

GabAlmighty 04-27-2010 09:27 PM

Your friend was stupid enough to spend over $1000 on two sweatshirts and was then stupid enough to agree to sell the aforementioned articles of clothing in a well known shady area of Vancouver?

Can you please smack your friend in the face for me?

smk 04-27-2010 09:45 PM

Sorry to hear about the loss of his goddamn Ed Hardy sweaters. Maybe it was a good thing

LOL @ stupid kids
LOL @ $1300 sweater

simsimi1004 04-27-2010 11:11 PM

to clarify, the sweaters were new, and he didnt buy them for 1300 but they are retail 1300.
hence it probably drived his eagerness into a quick sale for profit instead of thinking it through but w.e/

wait a minute.

why are 2 hoodies with animals (not wolves) worth so much?

I bought a pretty sweet wolf hoodie from value village for like $8. It's majestic as shit! dd I get a good deal.... or are wolves just not worth as much as pandas or tigers.

While I havn't seen these panda tiger sweaters, I assume they may be professionally bejeweled. If I bedazzle(tm) my $8 wolf sweater form value village (size XL) can it be worth up to $600 in a back alley?

pls reply, serious replys only.
