new shortblock - $1,900.00 complete with rods & pistons new cylinder head (one side only) - $1,500.00 labour - around $1,500.00 so that's $4,900.00 + $19,000 = $23,900.00 add all the mods/parts in the car and you have a hell of a deal IMO. check the pricing for parts at subarugenuineparts.com to verify. another way to go about this is to have the current shortblock built which may cost more but you'll end up with a solid build. |

sorry it had to come to this with your situation :( |
Why dont you just invest the 4500-5000 and fix it? Then you can definitely sell it for 25000? Are you worried about fixing it and finding no buyer? I would buy it if it was driveable, but its hard to take a gamble in buying a non-running car and then trying to fix it and finding theres more money to invest in it. |

the thing is, whoever wants to get into a car like this will have the chance to put in anything they please to make it as solid as possible. i have money to spend to put it back to perfect running condition (not racing condition). this is just the first avenue i am looking to explore and if this does not pan out then on to the next one which is to have fixed and either sell or trade. |
shit elmer it sucks to hear what happened......and yeah this is a great deal......btw its suberman from I-Vu.....gl with sale although i say keep it |

everyone who posted here... does anyone have a rough idea what a complete used stock sti ej25t longblock and ecu would cost? ie. return the engine back to stock and somehow recoup $$$ by selling the aftermarket engine parts... i'm trying to help someone do the math to see if this buying this car makes sense. (hm. i recall someone posting a thread on RS recently about someone dropping a corvette engine into a wrx? oh the possibilities with this one...!) |
damn elmer, sorry you had to sell the car...if only i had the money |
