give me $50 and i'll take you out to deepcove on my boat and we can go crabbing. it usually takes about 20mins to get about 4-5 crabs. with old fish as bait. btw. op do you have crab traps? they get pretty expensive.. the last time we bought our crab traps they were $200 each. |

i thought the regular ones are around $30-40 bux i heard a lot of the off shore sites, the shell fish are not edible, due to industrial pollution. |

I haven't gone crabbing in quite awhile but I've been to the pier watching other people hauling some decent sized crab. |
+1 for deep cove and porteau cove ;) |
last summer I caught craps with a net at low tide. walked out waist deep and scooped them off the bottom. this wasn't in the lower mainland though :) |
Lol I'm a commercial crab fishermen and the truth to crab fishing is time, let your traps soak over night and u should have a decent amount of crabs. You guys got ripped off even I don't pay 200 bucks for a full sized commercial crab trap about 105-120 depending on the weight of the trap. If u guys have a buddy with a small boat or dinghy just take out a few traps soak em for a couple days and head back out to haul em they should be full of crabs! Try to stay out of navigational channels or places with very strong tide cause the water alone can take your traps into deeper waters therefor losing the trap. Try to make sure your trap isn't too light or too heavy to pull up by hand. Posted via RS Mobile |
I used to live up Indian arm we would toss the trap right off the dock. Old fish heads and guts punctured cans of cat food and chicken were great bait. Good fishing right off the dock too. |
whats the crab count limit per person? |
