I have a 1992 Jetta GL for sale. It is tornado red. This used to be my little brothers daily before the head gasket blew in the original 1.8L 8V. I decided to take over the car and turn it into a project on the side. I have been working on and off for the past 2 years and I can no longer afford to finish the car. Below are some of the things I have done to the car so far.
- 2.0L 16V swap from a rear ended Jetta GTX (motor had roughly 150,000km)
- 16V runs on Digifant II now
- Brand new BBM fuel rail w/ FPR adapter
- Brand new starter
- Brand new fuel injector seats
- Brand new dis. cap and rotor
- Brand new air filter
- Brand new valve cover gasket
- Brand new throttle body gasket
- Brand new coolant temp. sensor
- Brand new battery
- Trunk full of spare parts and bently manual
Things that need to be done:
- Service brakes (rotors, pads, fluid)
- New manual clutch cable
- Proper fitting exhaust (16V exhaust manifold doesn't line up with 8V exhaust)
- New driver side mirror
- New shift boot
- 16V throttle cable
- Cut and polish (the paint is faded, but it can be restored. I spent some time polishing the passenger side fender/hood as an example)
The car can be viewed in Richmond and can be heard running, but I wouldn't recommend going for a test drive as the brakes need to be serviced. My asking price is $2500 obo.
Thanks!
