WIFI, wireless router and health risk

Is there any health hazard or risk linked to wifi/wireless router? I did a google search and not much came up, or at least no recent research.

I'm moving to a new place and there's only 2 place to my wireless router, either in the living room on the main floor or my bedroom on the 2nd floor.

I'm not sure am I being paranoid or not, but it doesn't feel right to have the wireless router in my room where I'm there 12 hours a day (sleep + study). There's 2 wireless computer in my home.

On the other hand, if I have the wireless router downstairs, connection might be a bit weak, and I won't be able to enjoy wired internet (my computer is directly connected to the router).

WiFi operates on the same frequency as the cordless phone. These have been around for longer than WiFi. I haven't heard of any complaints about those, so you are probably safe.

theres bound to be a study somewhere that says its bad for your health

but even if you dont use a router, ur neighbour likely does and the signal is present in your home so your screwed anyway

Driving a rotary around and inhaling oil and carbon is 10x more harmful than anything wifi could do to you.

Thanks, didn't know that.

I admit that I'm paranoid, but for some odd reason, I didn't think it was a good idea to have the router blast me with waves even when I'm sleeping.

There are still a lot of idiots who think that "radiation" coming from computer monitors is harmful. Forgetting, I guess, that the radiation from the sun is about a million times more intense and "dangerous"

BT and WiFi are mostly on 2.4ghz range. Some WiFi (802.11a) is on 5Ghz.
Some cordless phone are on 2.4Ghz and newer DECT 6.0 is on 1.9Ghz and older cordless phone are on 900hz or lower.

Lower frequency has higher penetration efficiency. I wouldnt worry about it too much.

But I do know one of my friend who can "sense" Bluetooth wave which gives him headache. Whenever I got close to him with BT on, he can tell and will ask me to turn it off. lol.

You're totally fine. The campus I just got back from (Lakehead University) is I think the only one in North America with no goddamn wifi, because the dean is some biology idiot who believes it's bad for you. I've gotten e-mails and shit about studies into this and they all came back inconclusive or failed. Having a wireless router near/far/anything with you does not increase your risk of anything.
