how does the GT3 RS stack up against this? |
GT3 is the NA version so it's not going to be anywhere nearly as fast as this. |
Widow maker. |
^ just like the 911 turbos of yesteryear.. holy crap. porsche has absolutely milked as many models as possible with the 911 platform... next thing we know... a mid engine Hyper car'ed 911 going under the GT1 monkier.. @__@ |

price tag around $130g, GT 2 i believe is $180 g + now the part im confused since i aint a huge fan boy of porsche.. how does GT2 compare against 911 turbo? arent they both around the same price tag? $180g +? |
GT2 MSRP is at about 240k+ currently. GT3's new go for about 160k... GT3RS are about 180k GT2= lighter turbo w/o awd and more power. i still think the GT2 is usually bought just for bragging rights on the street. Turbos are plenty enough for daily drivers, while GT3's are agressive street cars. |
^ damn they jacked up the prices where does 911 turbo fits in than?> |
according to porsche canada 911 turbo MSRP $165g 500hp 0-100km 3.7 seconds top speed 317km GT3 $138g 435hp 0-100km 4.1 sec GT3 RS $163g somehow GT2 is NOT listed |
911 carrera or Carrera 4 --> Carrera S or 4S --> GT3 --> GT3RS --> Turbo --> Turbo S --> GT2 --> GT2 RS dont forget the cabrio and targa models for the regular 911, S and turbo models. i dont think GT2's are officially in canada. MCL is willing to hook one up for customers if they shell out 240k (that was coming from a customer that came into weissach looking for one) |
well engine wise i guess it goes the order u put it 911 carrera or Carrera 4 --> Carrera S or 4S --> GT3 --> GT3RS --> Turbo --> Turbo S --> GT2 --> GT2 RS so turbo version is greater than GT3, but GT2 is the almighty other than the CGT of course |
pretty much.. dont forget the price too! but the turbo and GT3 are two completely different approaches to 911. GT3 has more personality... its a more raw of a car. it feels more.. special. as for the turbo, its more of a comfortable daily driver that is more powerful than a regular 911. ive driven both... and from an enthusiast stand point... GT3 > turbo when it comes to feel alone. the N/A 3.8 cars sounds wayyyyy better than the turbo cars. as for daily, Turbo wins hands down. all depends on what you want really. most people that buy 911's own/ have owned several. |

also, someone needs to mention the gtr spec-v in this thread. |
we are talking about porsche here, not GT RWARRR ok!! ;) |
they are only making 95 GT2 RS world wide less then 300 997.1 GT2 was sold in North America, and no more then 1000 world wide. PDK might be available on the .2 GT2 |

im kinda creeped out that ur posting like this.. i also agree with hyde, as im not surprised the PDK transmission would be available on the 997.2 GT2RS.. that PDK transmission is slick! So far, from what i heard amongst porschephiles, there is only one 997 GT2 around town. and its in black. owned by an older gentleman. deathblossom// i used to. not anymore. |
to make it simple it startes something like this regular 911 911s - sportier 911 GT3 n/a race version 911 GT3 Rs n/a hardcore racer 911 turbo - everyday yet trackable 911 GT2 911 turbo but rwd 911 GT2 RS - turbo rwd hardcore racer as described in top gear |
But this is soooooooooooo expensive!! Why?? Yes it's fast, but with that price buying something like that, I rather get a turbo or GT3 and call it a day. I rather get a Lambo! |
Lambos are a bitch to drive in the city imo.. |
Two reasons this car exists. Only no. 1 really, to be honest. 1. So the GT2RS is considered a "production car" for GT racing. 2. Alternative to male enhancement surgery. You guys should be familiar with the script by now. |
YAY ANOTHER 911 MODEL. |
I wonder which block the new GT2 is gonna use... the original GT1 3.6 or the newer DI 3.8 |
^ i'd say it'd be the DI 3.8 most likely.. 997.2 turbo has switched over to DI...... so why not for the GT2RS..?? 998 is over the horizon.. i bet this GT2RS is the swansong model.. (ie murci SV) |
