I need windows xp recovery disc!

I need a windows xp recovery disc to put my laptop in recovery mode so I can boot it back up...I can't find mine though, can anyone suggest a place to get hold of one from?..Ive had this problem in the past and I literally need it for 1 min just to type something in. If anyone here has one that I can come over and borrow i can buy you a few beers, or do you think I can go into a computer shop and borrow one there? thanks!

What's the make/model of the laptop? Is there a recovery partition you can boot to?

its a sony vaio sgn s660....I am very dumb when it comes to computers so I dont really know what that means or how to do that?...in the past my friend had a xp recovery and when I put it in it takes me to a command screen where I typed in a few things and windows was able to start (I followed instructions on another forum)

The problem right now is that I turned off the computer incorrectly so it will take me to a screen that says something along the lines "how would you want to start up windows?...safemode, regular etc"...every option I choose it would just loop back to this screen...
