but an album tells a complete story...

just listening to a few hits does nothing for me. need to hear it from start to finish.

you wouldnt watch just a few scenes from a movie would you?

murd0c 08-04-2010 04:31 PM

I'm kinda suprised no one has said anything about Brand Nubian. They were rocking it hard in the 90's

a lot of these guys have been listing to hip hop since the mid 2000 or so. Man if only all of you could of been around the early 90's to listen to real hiphop which where about the rhymes nice and grimy rapping in a alleyway hunched around a drum on fire with sick flow. Thats where it came from and was wicked to be apart of seeing the Nas and hova come up. Listening to the WU taking the rap game to a whole new level and of course you can't talk enough about Pac and Big, man I listen too this wack shit thats out there right now and don't care cause my ipod is always on rotate with the 90's joints that never get old.

Amaru 08-04-2010 06:35 PM

I respect everyone's right to an opinion, but I simply don't see how anyone could argue Biggie is better than Pac... 2pac just poured emotion into every track, it felt like you were listening to a real musical artist and not just a dude yelling rhymes into a mic.

that was fucking terrible. the fact that you liked the song and how there are so many likes relatives to dislikes makes me certain that the "new-age" rap/hiphop music listeners are deaf or just stupid

murd0c 08-04-2010 08:03 PM

Here's some of the grimey shit I grew up listening to not flashy just some good beats and the rhyme flow. I could post vids like this all day long.

How many People actually know about Boot Camp Clik now???

Shit I could put every WU song from 36 chambers up

As real and grimey as it comes

the show was a sick as shit sound track

MR_BIGGS 08-04-2010 08:04 PM

I'm not hating, I'm just assuming you're 15 years old.

Couldnt agree more. He may not have had the best flow/rhymes/etc but it was the emotion he put into every song that made him so memorable. You don't see much of it these days.

I saw half the artists mentioned at the Rock the Bells concert a couple years ago. Sickkkk lineup.

Those are all great female rappers MC Lyte was an awesome lyricist that never gotr enough credit and the majority of "rap" listeners aint ever even heard of her. They've heard her voice tho she does voice overs on some commercials and still produces.

i agree with everything you said. however to me that just isnt enough to make him the goat.

lyrically, biggie was way on another level.
clever lyrics were not tupacs thing. biggies lines require thought and some interpretation which is typical of east coast style (nas, mobb deep, etc...), unlike west coast lyrics which are most of the times, too literal.

also, tupacs flow is just waayyy too easy to make fun of, as you've seen on chapelle show. its unique sounding though, i'll give him that.
