City of Port Moody Photography Contest

We think that the City of the Arts boasts an incomparable beauty, charm and character all of its own. But, that’s just our opinion. What does Port Moody mean to you? We want to know! With the weather warming up, now’s the prefect time to get out there and show us what you really think about our city. Or, if you know a local burgeoning photographer, pass on this call!

My Port Moody! That’s the theme for the 2011 Port Moody City Calendar. The Calendar Committee is now accepting your photos of Port Moody’s finest - people, landmarks, landscapes, sports, flora and fauna.

Let your camera be your guide. And whatever your inspiration, be daring and original. Go ahead … hit us with your best shot!

The winning shots will appear in the 2011 Port Moody calendar, which we send to all residents and businesses. If we select your photo, you’ll receive a photo credit in the printed calendar plus the opportunity to have your photos appear on signature pages within the City’s website.

Submission Requirements:

• Images must be JPEG files.
• Images must be at least 300 DPI resolution when you submit them. The committee will not consider low resolution copies.
• Calendar images will be 11” by 8.5”, so bigger is better!
• Images must be “landscape” style to fit the calendar’s format.
• We require a model release/waiver from any persons who appear in your photos.
• Maximum ten photos per entrant on a CD. Due to the requirement for large size images, we cannot accept photos by email.
• Manipulated or retouched images are not eligible.
• Entries must include your name, telephone number and an email address.
• For each photo, please include a short description about where and when the photo was taken, and any interesting circumstances. Please note that the committee reserves the right to title photos to reflect the theme of the calendar.

Deadline for submissions is September 10, 2010

Drop off your CD of images with either Leslyn or Jillian in the Communications department.
