I need WoRk, HOok me up, I've heard they've got new policy and qualification inorder you to work at the airport, it must be canadian citizen only ? is that true ?

kungpow 10-10-2004 04:35 AM

I know a operation manager there. I don't remember his name though, I just met him at my new futureshop job.

dink 10-10-2004 01:07 PM

do they hire ppl that wants to work saturdays?

pizzaMR2 10-10-2004 02:24 PM

I never get why people think, just because you work at the airport, it seems like it's only ONE employer.

HMC does a lot of the food and retail stuff, but Air Canada has it's own hiring process, all the government departments has their own, RBC has their own. etc etc etc...

My advice, find out what you want to do..and be more specific.
If you want to work at a restrauant..then come on down...bring a resume and look for the HMC office.
if you want to work as a baggage handler...then come on down and look for Globeground...
If you want a warehouse job..then hit Miller Rd. and walk in and ask how you can apply.

The airport is the area where people work, but just because we all work at the airport dosn't mean we all got hired the same way....

Good Luck to all.....

Meeeks 10-10-2004 04:52 PM

HMS - not HMC

we're always hiring..i work at the duty free. cool job.. i love it. ashanti was there a few weeks ago..

TCB007 10-25-2004 02:42 AM

pizzaMR2, you've been working at the airport for quite a while now huh? are you still with the CFIA?

Gh0stRider 10-25-2004 10:57 AM

anyone work for Aeroguard at the airport?

!Mpower 10-25-2004 12:55 PM

Freight stuff

If you guys are interested in the cargo side of the business at YVR, there is a Postings board down at Cafe Runway on Miller.

Positions range from foot messengers to container forwarding, to gov't sector and food services. As PizzaMR2 mention, you have to have sth in mind and be more specific cuz the YVR is so vast.

right now, I believe the UPS depot here is looking for delivery drivers. 1pm - 5pm. This one is probably the easier jobs to get in terms of qualif. Just need to know how to drive standard and lift at least 50+lbs.
