Anyway it's not like there's anything you can do about it, the root of the problem is that the city is setup to function efficiently only if you drive, so you never thought "maybe I shouldn't drive coz I hit things pushing a trolley in the supermarket" because the time you'd waste (especially when you work enough to afford a car in the first place) by taking the transit and walking makes the option of not driving rather insane.

that's why in Asia drivers appear to be better - those who are not confident enough won't drive, it's simple as that.
Drivers in Asia are just as bad as anywhere else. Even worse (WAY WAY WORSE) if you're talking about China and Taiwan. Japan actually has great drivers (as long as they aren't on a scooter or motorcycle). Hong Kong drivers are typically Hong Kong - inconsiderate, always in a hurry, completely oblivious to their surroundings.

but they tend to cause a lot less fender benders than our drivers.

their worst drivers are rude, ours are inept. There is a difference.

You also shouldn't be driving in the passing lane fast, unless you're actually passing. Pass, then move back over if it's clear.

thats actually true, they know how to dodge and avoid others while here, the people will just go like, wtf zomg and drive straight into the other car, or swipe others.

the way drivers think and drive in asia is totally different than the way people think and drive here.

in asia, its everyone for themselves so they're aware of their surroundings and know what to do or where to go to prevent a crash, but here, the way people think and drive, they rely on others to be safe, and if one fucks up, everyone fucks up.
