Gas Stations & Reward Points

I have both Esso and Petro point card but I dont really know what to redeem the point with, could RSer shed some ideas on here?

I use my Esso card for car wash here and there, that's about it.

Which gas stations do you go and what do you use the points for ?

danned 05-18-2010 07:33 AM

you can check it out in esso and petro website

If it's strictly for rewards, nothing beats Superstore's 3.5¢/L or whatever it is now Superbucks rebate.

Err.. Petro's 5c/L back?

Esso giftcards are what i get. Use it for gas/store purchases.

Starting to use aeroplan at esso, but it takes forever to collect enough points to earn anything good.

I just use my Save-On card at Chevron and redeem for free milk and eggs when I go to Save-On, comes in handy for me since I go thru 8L of milk and 36-40 eggs a week.

Hmm, actually, I think Superbucks is now 6¢ or 7¢/L...

save on points at chevron is cheap. I've been using only chevron for a long time and I can prob only redeem a bag of potatoes.

Petro-Canada for Petro points - they sent me a trial Fuel Savings Reward card for 5 cents off/litre ^__^
Husky because of the $2 coupon

I used to go to Chevron a lot, but Save-on-More is pointless, so there's not a lot of incentive to fill up there, other than Techron. Does anyone know if there's still "Tactrol" in Petro-Canada gas? They used to market it but I've heard less about it now.

Manic! 05-18-2010 02:32 PM

1800 points gets you $10 at Esso, 1 point per dollar spent. You can also use your aeroplan card at 1 point for 3 dollars spent.

Back in the days when PC, petro, unaltered Sears reward was all hooked up, it was worth more than 4% reward with double dipping. Now it's down to 1%. Blah!

I guess smartcash MC (3% cashback) plus a reward card for any gas station would suffice.

Save on More Points at Chevron for me

I just give the points to my mom..cuz i dont goto Save-onFoods.

TRD3000GT 05-18-2010 08:29 PM

Exchange Petro Points to Asia Miles ;)

PiuYi 05-18-2010 08:52 PM

i think this questions been asked a million times, but is all fuel in GVRD from the same local refinery? just that each company adds its own additives?

Peturbo 05-18-2010 10:18 PM

For superbucks, is there any card of anything required like esso?
I think I might start gassing up at superstore since the rebate looks pretty damn good.

Is this the same for the ones in Vancouver?

red_2 05-19-2010 12:03 AM

I use my Esso points for the free bottle water.

I think its like 599 points for a 15 pack of nestle pure life.

that's a lot of eggs for 1 day.

If I were you, I'd be bored of eggs.

I can never eat the same thing 3 times in a row.
