^ yes I would let my gf walk for 5$ and my family would also walk for 5$. It's not like free parking is 5 blocks away. It's like a 10 min walk at worst. Now if u have eldery and handicapped ppl with u that worth $5. Any healthy adult Should be able to walk 10 mins especially if not walkin that 10 mins= $5.

anyone ever tried those potato things? they're on a stick and swirl all the way up to the top.. looks tempting but i didn't try it...
imo... these are the good only good foods there worth trying if you dont wanna try everything
- takoyaki
- lamb skewers (albeit quite expensive)
- the whole spicy squid

other than that, i'm not too sure it's quite worth the money to blow money on... like seriously, who the fuck will eat pizza at a nightmarket? good luck to those guys in the corner

Been parking at Ikea for nightmarket for the past 3 or 4 years. Never had a problem.

Anyways, went and it sucked. I'm not sure if food prices were always this high but $4.50 for a small (fake) shark fin soup? $6 for large? I bought some skewers (3 for $6) as well and they were meh. Tried the chip thing, it was alright.

I feel bad for the stand trying to sell instant bowl noodles at the night market. Just a straight up baaaaaaaaaaaaaad idea.

People need to get out of their cars more often. Walking can be an enjoyment too. A wife, gf, kid, mom, dad, etc need exercise. I think they don't need to be driven to the doorstep everywhere.

Yeah, I thought night market food was supposed to be CHEAP. Or that's only in Asia or 5 years ago? $6 for a large soup is like restaurant prices. The BBT cups are also smaller than other places.

well, it's like a little monopoly over there you could say. nobody's willing to lower their prices first hand just because they can all earn high profits in the end if everyone's roughly the same. every drink is like around $3-4 where most of the food is on average $5. $5 you get roughly order it at a restaurant but the good thing about the nightmarket is that all the food is gathered together in one place and you don't have to sift through everything in the restaurants just to get what you want...

on the other hand, i wanted to mention so many people were getting that Corn on the Cob thing. not to say that it wasn't good, but i mean for $3 for one corn, I get pretty much get 3 of them already instead of 1 if i were to shop on my own... ah well, it's not something you do everyday or every weekend so it doesn't really matter in the end. we roughly spent $20 per person

hype, event, something that you do in the summer because just about everyone has done it/talks about doing it...

i agree, having food at the nightmarket on an empty stomach adds up, I'll easily spend atleast 20$ in one go, and feel like it wasen't worth it when I think about how much more or better food I could get for that much.

Then again, I look forward to going to the nightmarket every summer just for the sights, the sounds, the people, and yes even the subpar food. It's just not nightmarket if you haven't had any takoyaki or spicy curry fishballs.

It's all about the experience, just like how most people will show up to the celebration of lights despite having seen it for the umpteenth time.

to the pp who are saying its healthy and you should walk by parking yourr car at ikea:

maybe you guys should bike there? if it's too far, you should take public transit and then walk in? why dont you park at yaohan and walk there ?

its funny how you guys are justifying being cheap and saying "ppl need exercise" when its only 10min walk
