Soft edges on Canon?

My friend was telling me that she chose Nikon because Canon had soft edges, I asked her to show me and we went to imaging-resource.

I was pretty shocked myself, it appears that almost every shot by shot comparison has soft edges from Canon (diff camera comparisons)

Just wondering your thoughts on this from more experienced photographers.... and has it affected your photography or brand loyalty?

I'm sure all of you know the website, it's a full crop from the corner of the image that I have fixed on.

What lenses were used, and what were the camera settings? There are so many factors here it's a useless comparison.

If they were comparing the Nikon & Canon 24-70mm f2.8 lenses, then yes, the Nikon image will be sharper by a little bit, but you need to be more specific.

The most important thing is the lens.. which there is no information on. If I put plastic wrap in front of your eyes you won't be able to see as sharp as me.

Not a very professional opinion, but i think that you are going to get great photo's from each system, Nikon or Canon. Just like anything else your going to get pro's and con's from each system. Each to his own. Try both, and whatever one feels better for you, take that one. I personally use Canon, because its what i started out with, and so far its been great for my application.

Also if you're processing from RAW, it matters slightly less. It matters more if you're shooting JPEGs.
