Best Roast Pig in the World

Thought I'd share this..

I am a fan of Anthony Bourdain, so in order to give this post some context, watch this clip..

Slowly Hand Turning the Pig that's been slaughtered in the morning? Slowly rubbed with Coconut water and stuffed with Indonesian Spices?
Wow.

So, naturally, after seeing that clip, I had to fly to Bali and try what Anthony Bourdain said to be the best roast pig he's ever had.

I wasn't dissapointed.
I was so happy to find the place...

The skin was truly amazing.. crispier than a chip!
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_RlBlRdp4hCE/S_...0/IMG_5903.JPG

The Balinese spices and flavors were definitely the best. I'll never forget how it tasted.

Solid 10/10. Price for meal? 350,000 Indonesia Rupees... (about $3.50CAD).

Epic meal... The place is soooo good. If you ever make a stop in Bali, be sure to try it.

Oh boy... So good...

boss604 05-26-2010 12:08 PM

wow, i want some now

LiquidTurbo 05-26-2010 12:29 PM

Yea, me too. Funny thing is there was an option to order just the skin. So you get a few slices of the skin to eat like chips. I could really go for that right now..

Alphamale 05-26-2010 07:00 PM

+1 I love watching No Reservations. He goes to so many great random places. Anthony Bourdain really loves his pig. The Filippino one is really good to.

Mugen EvOlutioN 05-27-2010 07:31 AM

man i love this show, makes me drool all over

FN-2199 05-27-2010 10:39 AM

Fuck, the Filipino one is so gooooood.

Makes me want to go back to my motherland to get some :p

LiquidTurbo 05-27-2010 12:49 PM

I'd love to try the Fillipino version, although I am skeptical it was more delicious than the Balinese version. I'd never tasted anything so memorable. Ended up eating there 3x.

Anyone know of any famous locations in the Phillipines?

Vansterdam 05-27-2010 01:36 PM

how bout some places in van that cook it up filipino style :)
