Work place bullies I got one at my new job. Tattoos all over his body, big troll looking kinda guy. We are a part of a union there. he hits people with wooden sticks, shoots his air powered staple gun at poeple while they work. Today he told me to go fcuk myself because I asked him not to turn the 20" fan on while we are working. Im still under the 90 day probation period and told myself I wouldnt get into any trouble and to stay under the radar. I had enough so I stormed into the office and talked to the head honcho. I let him know what happened and that he was harasing people on the floor. I did forget to tell him about his target practice during work. I will save it incase this blows up in my face. He said he might make a complaint to the union about his behavour. I went back to work only to find all these 2 faced bastards gossiping like school girls. I didnt want to attract attention but I can't let this guy yell at me like that, he will just keep doing it to me. I hope this doesn't backfire, I will keep you(reader)updated. Anyone here experienced this before? Im sitting here with a feeling in my gut that I cant explain.. oh, I know I should have gone to the shop steward but they are butt buddys. |
Where do you work? or What type of job are you doing? |

What the hell kind of job is this? This have anything to do with those workers in China killing themselves? |
why dont the guys being hit with the wooden sticks hit him back? stand up for yourselves! if you get in shit just let them know what happened... how the fuck you suppose to work like that everyday, stop it the earlier the better |
what place is this? wow... |
What kind of work you doing? Hitting people and aiming air tools at people isn't cool. Depending on the job, pushing people emotionally I don't mind. If it's a strenuous type of job, it's nice to weed out the week ones and get new people in that can handle it. |
Is a job really worth sacrificing your masculinity for? |
If he tries to hit you with a wooden stick, pull a Bo Jackson. Grab the stick and break it over your knee, tell him to try it again and just walk away. |
Sounds like highschool man. Hope it all works out for you in the end.. |
if you can't resolve this sounds like time to find another job |
so why doesn't anybody else do anything about it? must think and study the social structure before you do something. |
if he pokes you one, you poke him 10timesi if he swears at you once, you swear at him 10times. If he punches you once, you punch his nuts 10 times. Of coz you do this after your probation period. |
depending on the size of the company. Most of the times, if he swears at you , you can look him in the eye and say " excuse me" can you repeat that? ... that should set him back. If that don't work , whip out your phone record him secretly, and if ur boss doesnt do anything post it on youtube. I am sure this will hit the news... |
sounds like a highschool automotive class |

Its a union construction type job I assume. Your gonna find guys like this in many shops or construction sites learn to dish it back, you need a backbone when working with neanderthals and crying to the super aint gonna help your situation especially being a union job. |
just like the song says --- hit 'em up, hit 'em up, hit 'em up. |
I was going to say it sounds like construction. I feel your pain. :( The bigger question is whether or not you want to stay in such an environment. Looking back, I really wish I had quit that a-hole job instead of sticking around for 3 years. |
This sort of reminds me of when my brother worked with Peter Kiewit & Sons. My brother worked in a "trailer" on site doing the accounting stuff. He never got bothered but there was another accountant who was gay and got shot with rubber bands by some of the construction guys. Some of those construction guys are real thickheaded dumb asses. The one being bother did end up quitting but he really should have f**ked up their paychecks since he was responsible for that aspect of the job. |
Slip viagra in his lunch sandwich ......and then get prepared to laugh all afternoon at him....lol |
physical abuse shouldnt be allowed in any situation, even if it's a union construction job. shooting nailguns at people in public is definately a worksafe no-no. videotape that next time and report it to worksafe if anything happens to you. his superiors would get heat for allowing that to happen too. you wouldnt want to work at a shit job if it's being managed so poorly and workers are allowed to do stuff like that to other workers. |
you must be a pussy bitch....stand up for yourself...if you dont wanna do it at work; do it outside of work... if someone bullied me at work, and the SI wont do anything about it; i will be the farm that i will fix that fucker outside of work...and im gonna make it 10x worse than whats happening inside of the workplace... so either grow a set, or find a diffrent job. |
^ That's probably a bad idea if you're outnumbered dood. I dunno if you've dealt with rednecks before.. especially if they're bigger and dumber than you. If they're okay with shooting staple guns as "making fun of people", imagine the kind of stuff they'd do in a second if you piss 'em off. |
karmas a btich... hit him back 2 times harder.. then be like bitch how do you like it.. |

You're entirely right shooting nail guns and such is bullshit but thats the trade your in. A trade filled with childish immature antics and all eyes are on the new guy so unless you aim to stand up to this at every job site and everyday and change the system you're best to roll with the punches, new guy. How you react will determine how long you last in the industry. If this alpha neanderthal is as bad as you say and you want to stick around you'll find ways to undermine him but you'll have to do it at his level or you'll just be the miserable new guy bitch at the job site. Best of luck to you. |
