Mall clerk saves falling boy

Quote:

This shocking video footage from Istanbul shows a 4-year-old boy who fell from the top of an escalator when he climbed up the wrong way and dangled precariously off the handles. The boy is seen holding onto the rail up the side of the escalator staircase as he’s lifted from the ground floor of a mall–and gets whisked away to the second story of the building. Quick shopkeeper Ali Apari, on the bottom level, ran underneath the boy and caught him as he dropped. No injuries occurred.

zilla510 05-26-2010 09:29 PM

Wow...that kid would have fell right on his head!

hchang 05-26-2010 09:30 PM

A Hero should be a guy telling the kid to not climb the sides of the escalator.

It's pretty fucked, there were people just standing around, who I'm sure saw the little boy climb.

ASG111 05-26-2010 09:46 PM

i wonder if the mall clerk touched him, but managed to drop him when he was falling, will he be liable for the incident...

Fafine 05-26-2010 09:49 PM

^ only in usa. i bet the boy was like fuck that was fun, round 2!

rsx 05-26-2010 09:58 PM

The shopkeeper should've let the boy fall, stand over the boy's twitching body, shake his head and say, "it's the only way you'll learn, moron."

FerrariEnzo 05-26-2010 10:58 PM

damn... what a stupid kid...

eurochevy 05-26-2010 11:08 PM

what kind of parent lets your 4 year old out of sight THAT long that you dont' even know hes going up there ..like seriously?

flagella 05-26-2010 11:13 PM

dumb parents honestly. He basically saved a life cuz that kid sure would've been dead falling on his head. I'd definitely give this guy a raise if I were the manager.

Presto 05-26-2010 11:34 PM

Ah kids... I remember when I was a kid, I was a little monkey. I climbed everything and got in a lot of trouble. I think I might've rode the escalator like that, but certainly not up to the top!

Oh wow. Lucky break for the kid!

I admit that as a kid I've thought of doing what that kid just did.. :p

Gumby 05-27-2010 10:48 AM

Wow, good job mall clerk!

Anybody bashing the kid - as if you've never done anything stupid in your life.
