If you could go back in time...
 

If you were able to go back in time, say back to the 50's, what one piece of technology would you take with you? Don't worry about logistics (ie: unleaded gas for vehicles, modern outlets for electronic gadgets, etc). What would you show off?

I can think of two things. The first would be an iPod loaded with modern day rock and metal. The second would be a car, something like a Ferrari F430 or a Porsche 997 GT3. Show off what the respective companies will be making half a century in the future.

What would you take?

I would take Justin Bieber to show his mom why she should wear a condom this time around.

Why do kids and adults, usually male, often say of Bieber, “He’s gay” or “He’s a girl”?

These negative reactions occur for three reasons:

1) Boys and men, particularly those who feel insecure about their own masculinity, believe they must prove their manliness by putting down a male who does not conform to society’s rigidly narrow definition of male gender identity.

2) Boys and men, particularly those who feel insecure about their own sexuality, believe they must prove their heterosexuality by cutting down a male who they characterize as being gay.

3) Many boys and some men are jealous of Justin Bieber because so many girls (and women) adore him.

I would bring back the most advanced laptop computer, tv and cellphone we have back in time, reverse engineer it and make a ton of money, not to mention bringing technological advances to our civilization :)

I would bring a ipod with tons of music/movies as well. What I would also bring is a PS3 for the hard drive computer tech and the games of course.

A book listing the scores of every sports event. so I can bet on them all :D like in Back to the future.

cell phone would be useless.... with no towers.

- A 17" Macbook Pro or any other high end 17" laptop loaded with Photoshop CS5, EPSON 2880 inkjet printer and a Canon 5DmkII+lenses. Show them how photography has changed, show them what a 'computer,' 'digital camera,' and 'image manipulation software' can do.

- Modern Formula One car.

- Digital music player: iPod Nano or Touch.

- F-22 Raptor

- Modern set of high end golf clubs and balls :p

- Bottle of Jack Daniels to see if it really has stayed the same. :D

I don't think his mom would be born yet...

i would bring a hot tub with me lol! or better yet...some money. imagine buying some stocks that you know will be worth a bundle

I'll fail you on this for failing Captain Picard. The OP simply stated what would you bring back 50 years in time. Does it have to work in the 1960's? No.

I will bring back a 3D LED HDTV, a USB Media Player and a 2TB external HDD filled with JAV. And charge people for watching it.

If I can go back that far, I would bring a Metal Storm rifle for protection and a laptop full of data on history, knowledge, science and medicine. Then I can re-write history by going around teaching people philosophy, becoming their savior and recreating my own religion and become their world leader for global domination and towards peace.

I'd take back a bunch of modern text books on programming, hide in a basement then start a company called Microsoft in 1970.
