LOL@the family making a big scene for such a little thing. (calling everyone out) |
Put yourself in Valour's shoes. If you found yourself in this situation and someone insulted you to your face, and then you reversed your car and let the guy go through, how would you feel after? Like you had just been shit on, right? One of the worst feelings I have ever experienced is being yelled at despite being in the right and not speaking up about it. Think about that. |
I would have solve the problem Ari Gold style. Move bitch! What is this? No no no! I don't have time for this. What is this? A family reunion now? MOVE PEOPLE, I have places to be and clients to deal with. THANK YOU! That was 2 minutes of my life I will never get back. Lloyd! |
lol if i had a bush guard i'd just threaten to ram through |

Also you said you pointed at them to yield? Maybe they thought you were disrespectful/rude In your pointing manners? Posted via RS Mobile |
It's all about perspective. You keep talking about how it's so important for you to choose your battleground and defend your honour. Well, which battles you choose also says a lot about you. For instance, you mentioned that you weighed the pros and cons of the battle, and decided that since, if it came to it, you could win the physical battle, it would be ok to engage. To me, this says that your honour is worth defending, but only if you are sure you can win, otherwise, it's just honour, you would let it slide. The other thing that can be noted about the battle you chose to fight is regarding where you are in life. Someone who is clearly not on the same 'moral highground' as you decides to call you out. You take so much offense to this, that you feel the need to stop what you're doing and where you're going to defend yourself, or your peanuts, or your anus, or whatever. Now let's pretend that instead, that it's not you, it's Bill Gates, and it's not racist guy, it's a bum off the street. If a bum stopped Bill Gates, called him a worthless yank who has failed in life, and who can't raise a family, and also noted that his mother is a whore, what do you think would happen? Well, according to you, the bum just pissed all over Bill Gate's 'honour', surely he should defend himself! Well, if you would allow me to assume for a second, I would guess that Bill Gates would care less about what the bum has to say, and walk away. He has more important things to do, and more importantly, the opinion of the bum doesn't matter one lick. The battles you choose say a lot about your life. I guess instead of responding to this thread, I really should have just bought a ticket to board the failboat, since that's what'll probably happen once all the RSers wanna get your back. Good thing it doesn't bother me ;) |

A lot of small things like this happen everyday. It really depends if you want to blow it up or just take a step back and let it slide. |
if there were more people in this world like the OP and the other party, there would be peace on earth... |
So therein lies the key to this discussion. Conflict. Your position on this topic is the ground you staked. My live action incident is an analogy of this very discussion here. If I call you a faggot now and demand you reverse your position. Now what? According to your argument, you would turn tail and let me have my way. Ok faggot, reverse your position and say that I am right. Your move... (i'm not really calling you a faggot. this is merely to dramatize the point of my discussion) |

U r assuming that i was gonna force my way through no matter what. U r incorrect. i am a reasonable person. I enjoy discussion. we could have talked it out and if he made some good points why i should yield, i may have. But he did not even present that option with his actions. Ur bum analogy is nice. except that the bum here is cornering Bill Gates in a tight alley, not a wide sidewalk. This unique situation takes terrain largely into consideration. Look at the corner of my turn. With the car parked there how can I see the other driver approaching? |

Well if you didn't call the cops then I don't need my tax refund from you. Why would a family's leader (I'm assuming mum and pops in the pic) behave in such an erratic behavior in this day and age... |

why would a well educated guy (I'm assuming the OP is educated and civilized) behave in such a stubborn behavior in this day and age... |

^ I've seen that transcript, but not sure if it's real. :) |
I've read this since page one but have yet to comment. You all seem to hate on him for taking a stand for what he believes, and is justified in believing, that he was right. Yes the OP "could" have reversed out and let the person pass BUT once someone goes beyond your personal boundaries sometimes you just have to take a moral stand for your own self worth. Bullies sometimes need to be stood up to and in this case the other diver was clearly the bully and used strong arm tactics to attempt to get their way. Your all blaming the OP but the other diver could have JUST AS EASILY made this situation go away without it ever becoming a situation. I applaud the OP for his action's and his humor in the whole situation. I heart RS. Berz out. |
